Ok, this is finally what Vanessa will look like in the comic itself, (She doesn't show up till aroun page 8 or so though. Oh, and page 3 is 50% drawn, I took a break from it last night to do this.) with all of her newly 40k-ified gear and redunculously excessive hotness. On that, I want to thank transfuse [link] for inspiring me to draw a 100% anatomically correct female for the first time ever by repeatedly putting my to shame with his amazing work. I've gotten close before but this is the first time ever that I really think I got EVERYTHING right even down to the musculature *pats self on back*. I'm actually paying Transfuse to do a piece of Vanessa that I'll probably use as an add for the site (Its costing me a kidney so I can do what I want with it!!!)

Anyways, the reason for this pic, if you need a reason to draw hot women, is that others had mentioned that the previous design of Vanessa ([link] ) looked to video-gamish and lacked the feeling of really belonging in the grim universe of 40k. So I fiddled with the design somewhat, making it a bit more practical and rearranging some aspects (Note the lack of gauntlets and equipment belt.). After I was done it still felt off and lacking, so I decided to give her a loincloth, and a pretty long one too. The cloth has an Aquila, the seal of the Cadian Interior Guard (The ordos have an entire seperate branch for the Cadian sector and yes its very closely affiliated with the Cadian Military. As she was born on Cadia she is a member of the Ordos Cadia.), which is a Cadian Gate with an Inquisitorial =I= in the front. The rest is a carta stating her authority as a servant of the most Holy Inquisition and the word Castus, Latin for pious/pure/chaste/cleansed.

I moved her displacer field (A displacer field as an odd sort of force field that doesn't attempt to stop the threat from hitting the target but simply teleports the wearer out of harms way. So if you shoot her she just disappears and reappears somewhere within a 30 meter radius, if its set to full power. The only real problem is that you have no control over where it sends you [Don't worry, it won't send you into walls, it says so on the package...] and your disoriented for a second or two when it happens. Its very reliable if somewhat annoying, but also very expensive and rare.) to a small backpack (you can't see it from this angle) because it would look better and make more sense.

Currently coloring it. Oh, and I came up with a really simple solution to the issue of whether her hair should be auburn or silver. She uses Polymorphine a lot in her work (Its a drug that allows you to reshape your physical features allowing you to change your appearance at will, sort of. Callidus assassins use it extensively.), but polymorphine doesn't let you change hair, skin, or eye color, so she has subdermal implants in her hair and skin which allow her to do so, therefore allowing her to change hair color and skin color at will. Oddly it also lets her create fake tatoos by altering the color of certain areas of her skin. To Vanessa her body is a tool and a weapon and she uses it as such, not that she really minds her natural appearance at all.
