I think Z brush is a good one. My Centrino Duo 2 gig laptop can't handle it.
But I read a bit about different software and that seems to be good. That being said, there's so many 3D programs available. I really like the color combination on this.

Hey Bro I must say you did really well with this piece on Photo Shop, and let me tell you i agree with you on how complicated it can be to do 3D Graffiti on PS, is the only way i do mine. GOOD WORK!!

WRICE, Your art work is truly wicked! I'm exercising my brain to think in 3d and maybe one day do a piece close to yours.

I like this alot man, I can tell alot of time went into it. I've done a bit of 3d stuff in photoshop but cant seem to get the shading as smooth as I want, or maybe just dont want to spend the time! Any tips you want to share would be very much appreciated
peace

dope,yo you could make these 3d in illustrator pretty easyily.illustrator has a some simple 3d tools that used to be a standalone program and are now part of illustrator.check it out may be just what you looking for. you could learn most of the 3d tools in a day its that simple.

Ah, another faux render maker. Nice job on this. I think it needs more depth, though.

I tried to do 3D with Blender, a pretty good 3D freeware, but I'm affraid it take me a long time to make something correct with it. So I think I will keep it on with Photoshop!
Thanks for the comment

you dont need a 3d program, this is just fine. those cats with 3d programs cant do this with out the programs, other wise they would. i used to think i wanted one, but now i cant stand it.

This is a great piece, and honestly, I think you should continue to do this with photoshop...
This way you have more control than using 3d, i use 3dsmax myself, This geometric graffiti style tend to be difficult
to create because there are some illusions going on and perspective changes, etc , so even if you design it in 3d, you still have to blend it with ps, see ?
Also with this technique, youΒ΄re closer to the real graffiti art; keeping your style "polygon safe" would increase your uniqueness.
If youΒ΄re really interested in learning 3d just to create this kind of art, you should search around the net for a technique called "Box-modeling" excluding the part where you smooth the mesh...
Hope it helps...

Thank you for the constructive comments, the watch and the fav!!! I did a tuturial for lightwave and I'm affraid it will take me a long time to do about the same stuffs with a 3d software... and I have to let the computer run for a while to get the final image: it's quite borring... on the other hand I needed more than 150 layers to do this a 3D stuff and I though a 3d software could save some time...

i dont even understand how you made this in photoshop... im decent with the program, and i dont see how this could be easy at all... its nice though, i use 3ds max7... i like it alot... but ive been using 3dsmax for like 3 years since i was 12 now

thanks! it really take time to make 3d just with photoshop. That's why I 'm reading right now the manual of lightwave ( no way to use it without as you can do with cs!) but the problem with the manual is its size: 1200pages!!! Is 3D max difficult to use?

bamjamble In reply to Wrice [2004-12-31 16:50:17 +0000 UTC]
it takes time... but i think its pretty basic, i followed alot of tutorials a while back... mines not the real version of it so i dont have manual to read.
