The water is very still and uninterrupted, almost as if there were no living animals in there. Given the color of the trees and the sky, in a way it doesn't look like this picture was taken by an ordinary camera. To actually be in this setting I would imagine that it is peaceful and relaxing. If you're there by yourself it naturally would be a place that would lend itself deep reflection and meditation. But at the same while, the color scheme is cold, sober, and serious.

I see this picture being the setting of a very serious and surreal dream. You're an adult now, and your time is cumbered by work and family. But at times you wonder about a park that you used to frequent in Japan when you were very young. Maybe there are even some old friends and family that you haven't spoken to in a while, and you wonder about them as well.

But there's this one night when you have this dream where you are back in this park that you used to go to as a teenager. Instead of this park being warm, mellow, and lively the way that you knew it to be - it is now cold with a death stillness, and surreally somber. The dream goes on with you walking somewhere of interest until you find an object belonging to someone you knew at one time. The object makes you think that something could be wrong with that person in real life. Then when you wake, you appropriately get around to calling up some people that you used to know to see if everything is O.K.

In a dream, this picture would be the setting where an old place that has sentimental value to you has changed for the worst or become a place where you find out something bad and haunting.

Either way, it's still a good photo and I'm glad that you posted it so as to share it with others. Very Nice!

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and impressions of the photo. I love to read what other people feel by looking at my pictures ^^
The photo was taken with a normal SLR Camera (Nikon D5100), using an infrared filter (720nm) and a long time bulb. ThatΒ΄s why there is the mirror effect on the water. With Photoshop you can change the color from red (normal output) to the color you want by mixing the channels.
I love Japan and the japanese gardens, hope to visite Japan again, itΒ΄s a very nice place with a lot of beautiful treasures. <3Β

Great shot! I like the angle and colors a lot. My only critique would be the skysrcaper in the background, it slightly disturbs the natural feeling.
But overall I love it.
