Description Version one of a realistic photomanip, of my version, of a Therianthrope/Lycanthrope/Werewolf/shapehifter. In the story that I'm writing this beast shape is called the Therion form (from the the Greek word theríon means "wild animal" or "beast".) And the other forms are called Waer; the feral form h-m-m.deviantart.com/gallery/4… , and Lycan; the more lean humanoid form. h-m-m.deviantart.com/art/Moonl… )

I like my design I have made for my werewolves/lycans/Therianthropes which have more human/primate like features. And this fella would be able to stand and walk around on it's hind-legs similar to a human.
Its roar is like one of a gorilla's. www.youtube.com/watch?v=miXPS2… And when it howls, it's deeper than that of a wolf, similar to a territorial roar of a lion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U6prr…

Since humans and apes are related I liked the idea to make them more gorilla-ish and just a hint of wolf.
But still making them a werewolf which is not too human-like or not just a wolf on two legs.

First impression... a silverback gorilla.
It's a stretch to see a Lycanthrope there.
Sorry.

But the talent and the skill to create this is fantastic!

That's okay by me, I respect that

I wasn't going for the 'normal' werewolf look. More the one that could work with anatomy of animals that exist, other than the look of a werewolf you see in the the movies for example.
And how I thought it would look when a primate, originally starting as a human, and a wolf would look mixed together. I choose the gorilla because humans and apes are related, and gorillas are very powerful, but caring.
Which fit one of my characters, in the book I'm writing very good. That's the reason I had this design made in the first place.

But thanks for your comment! It's interesting to see what other people think!
And thank you for your nice words!

I've considered this approach to a more probable take on werewolves before, but I think something closer in shape to a howler monkey's jaw line would help to maintain that wolfish aesthetic.

the Galeda could be interesting too, those things have some scary fangs.

Its an interesting experiment though.

I can relate to what you mean, and the thought is good. They do have scary fangs haha! But since I've experimented a lot with how the face should look for this design, I finally found what I liked, and suited my taste and style the best But next time I could test a different approach with the jaw line to see if I like it or not! Even if I want it short and kind of human-like
Everyone have an idea and thought of how they prefer their werewolves the best, and I think it's good to have a free mind about things, nothing is wrong!
I just don't like the versions with very wolfish look, even if it's called a werewolf. This design is for the story that I'm currently writing about a type of human that can shapeshift into different forms; human, humanoid(Lycan), feral(Waer) and this one, the beast form (Therian). They're not really werewolves, but their kind is what started the myths and stories behind the werewolves of our time because people back then only had wolves and bears as their biggest predators in the forest of Europe at that time. Just for you to know my thought behind it. (I did only write a little bit about it in the description)

But thank you for the comment and your thoughts! It's always fun to have someone that shares their ideas and give input to one's work!

Hehe I understand I tend to favor a longer snout myself with my designs, but all sorts of monsters should be allowed to coexist happily. ^_~

Hehe Yes they should! If my cat and my two dogs can be best friends so could they! (Not really the same thing but, sort of the same! haha )
