Description i remember
the day her breath expired

that was the day the earth turned
burned
the words
of my soul.

the day that the no birds flew
or sang

and the day the ground beneath me
made my very bones shake.

did you know
that even when you think the fire's out,
it still rages within?

This whole piece is really magical. I like how the book is in the distance but it is not the focal point. Without anything being given (the book cover) it gives the viewer the option to choose what it is that they want burnt. So whether it be fairy-tales or romance someone is determined to say goodbye to; this photo captures it. Her eyes are looking forward with no sense of regret or remorse. She's ready to move forward and there's no stopping her. With her face being the main focus it gives more rather than takes from this. Great job at capturing such a memorable photo.

I love fire because it's so unpredictable. I especially love how it's acting in this picture.

I'm not one for make up, but it helps draw attention to her eyes. I like it.

There was a point where we had the fire out and the book closed for quite awhile, but when we went to go do photos with the book not on fire, it caught flame again right away. It was super cool.

I find when I'm doing conceptual photographs, I do usually like to utilize it to match the mood. I have to give her kudos, because we talked about the concept before and she was spot on in knowing what I wanted and what I was looking for, really on the same page. I think not having had the makeup would have detracted from the dark mood this is supposed to have.

Yea, the whole series of photos is pretty cool. I would have enjoyed even watching the photo shoot.

It's always good when everyone knows what the feel of the photo should be. The model fit so well with the mood. Her face, the make up, everything. Good job!

some kid on a bike came by us as we we're just starting and watches us for about 40 minutes before he left. It was amusing.
