Name: Yun (Chinese, “Born in the clouds”)
Age: 17 almost 18
Gender: Female
Abilities:
-As the Avatar Yun can bend all four elements and communicate and calm the spirits
-Skilled with her staff
-Has many random little skills that she picks up from helping people out.
Nationality: Mother is an air nomad while her father is from the Earth Kingdom.
Appearance: Grey eyes of an air nomad but has many features of an Earth Kingdom citizen from her Earth Kingdom father such as her tanner skin and freckles. Her hair is brown but when the light hits one can see a reddish tint and is styled in two loose pigtails while her bangs are wisped back. Unlike most Air Nomads Yun decides to grow her bangs out more than normal, showing her defiant side but having them slicked back to show off her Air Bender tattoos which appear on her forehead, arms, and legs. Yun keeps her right arm covered and bandaged up as a result of severe scarring as from a Firebending training incident.
Personality: Street smart / Resourceful / Stubborn / Extroverted / Defiant / Charismatic / Strong willed / Hot headed
Background: Yun was born two cycles before Avatar Aang into the Air Nation. Her mother was an air nomad from the Western Air Temple while her father was from the Earth Kingdom. As per Air Nomad tradition, Yun was raised by nuns and grew up not knowing her birth parents in the Eastern Air Temple.
Yun was always a bit different from the other air nomad children, often being referred to as the black sheep of the Eastern Air temple growing up as she danced to the beat of her own drum. This only made her more willing to master the element of Air quickly so she could have more freedom and to travel the world in search of new and exciting experiences to have and people to meet. This drive led her to earning her Air Bending tattoos at the age of 15 with the technique she created being that of the “Air Bomb”, a strong move she figured out by observing Earth Benders.
She discovered herself that she was the Avatar while practicing the air bomb technique, one of the attempts resulting in Earthbending rather than Airbending. She told her closest friend Jia about the incident but no one else and they kept it a secret until she was officially told by the monks at the age of 16, shocking many of her peers since they wouldn’t have pegged her as the “Avatar” type with her defiant nature, especially to those of authority.
When it came to learning the other elements she started off strong, spending a year mastering Water Bending which she found a calming experience, the flowing nature of water suiting her. Earth was oddly easier for her to master, her strong willed and stubborn spirit being perfect to connect with the Earth. She grew very close to her Earthbending master, who before departing ways gifted her a brown choker necklace with the Air Nomad symbol etched in gold on the front. This was her first real possession outside of the basic necessities that were provided her while with the Air Nomads and she cherishes it dearly.
When it came to learning Firebending she traveled to the Fire Nation and met with the Royal Family, who’s oldest son and heir to the throne, provided her with a trusted Firebending Master, surely good enough to teach the Avatar. However he and Yun did not get along well and often clashed with each other, whether it be verbal or physical. Having the last Avatar be from the Fire Nation, Yun had a lot to live up to. Her “Master” was a prideful man and pushed her to her limits. He belittled her often, calling her a weak Avatar in hopes of using that to fuel her emotions and to make her Firebending stronger through anger. During a training session things got too heated and Yun received a severe burn over her right arm, scarring it badly. Her master instead of feeling regret felt pride that he, a regular Fire Bender, could do hard to the great and mighty Avatar.
Frustrated and now suffering the loss of some arm movement, Yun decides to leave to find a healer that can fix the damage that was done and to learn Firebending from someone else, having some friends on their own journey along the ride with her.

How she is remembered as an Avatar: Yun is most remembered for her acts of kindness and aid to the common people, always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what the task. She was someone an average person would have been able to talk to easily and sit down with for a drink. Through this she was able to solve many conflicts between the common people and had been credited for establishing unity among the common folk and has been credited for establishing trade networks through the nations. Her goal in life was for everyone in the world during her time being able to have an experience with her. Statues made in her honor all have her hand extended, reaching out to those who stand before her for years to come.
