Description A color test for Kaja, one of my "Avatar - The Legend of Korra" OCs.

I tried to find a balance between the colors of the Fire Nation and the Air Acolytes, since both Kaja and her parents are as ethnic citizens of the Fire Nation, but her parents have become Acolytes and live on Air Temple Island in Republic City. I still I find it ironic that both cultures seem one considering the Airbender's genocide and the Hundred Years War. But I think it is the same case with the Jews: whenever I think of "Jew", I imagine people with German accents, German names... And after that, "Hava Nagila". Or my friend

I wanted more "strong" features for Kaja, since she is a firebender, and I wanted a kind of character different from the rather typical "beautiful, thin and generic" design. However, this design is temporary and I can always make another, but I believe that not so distinct Asian features seem to give Kaja a more humble look. What do you think? Leave a comment!

Sweet!

Is she technically a Acolyte like her parents?

She was, at first. She identifies more with the culture of the Fire Nation because of her natural element. She once killed a mosquito, and her parents gave her a two-hour sermon on "the unity of all living things". Eventually, Kaja decides she wants independence and goes to live in the City, but still keeps visits her parents regularly and they are okay with her choices.

Well that's good. Also I'm sure she's one who still values most life.

In fact, in the main trio of Avatar OCs (Kaja, Lekka and Khushao), she is the calmest and friendlier character. And she was fired from her job as manager at the tea house precisely because she tried to stop a gangster from robbing the customers to collect the "protection money" after Kaja failed to give him the safe's money.

Unfortunately, yes. Her employer, however, paid her medical bills.

Yay!

I guess it was just a case of, "We can't afford to keep you, since we need to build a new shop" sorta thing.

Exactly! Her employer was initially mad, but after a while he admited he was impressed by her courage, and she was an evidence that "not all benders are evil exploiters".

Kaja - "See? Benders are also subjected to prejudice while looking for jobs. 'Sorry, we don't hire firebenders for safety concerns', they said in the gas station. Is it fair?".
