I'm pretty sure, that they did it on purpose. Jack's story and Elsa's story... Jack sacrificed himself for his little sister, and Elsa did basically the same thing. Locked herself away for years to protect Anna. And the fact, that they are so lonely both of them. And the fact, that Pitch Black can sence fear, and ELsa has been so afraid her whole childhood. It's just... to amazing. It can't just be a coincidence.
