Yet more Aqrion shenanigans. (: This is for the adoption contest going on. I just about ripped my hair out over this one, because I forgot a background was a requirement after I had drawn and colored this guy. But somehow I managed to pull one together. XD Yay GIMP.

ONWARD TO THE LENGTHY STUFF.

Name: Kekoa (meaning “The brave one”)
Gender: Male
Age: 47
Size: 25 feet
Weight: Approx. 5400 pounds
Element: Light (Hunter)
Mate: Odessa
Original Colony: Unknown
Present Colony: Resident

Likes: Watching the sunrise, the moon and stars, shallow seas, creating light illusions, chasing small fish, taking on large prey.
Dislikes: The dark, storms, rudeness/arrogance, bullies
Personality: Protective, and brave. Proud of his abilities and strength, but not to the point of overconfidence and recklessness. Usually friendly, and somewhat quiet, however, he will not hesitate to show his intolerance of rude behavior, especially bullying.

History:Kekoa grew up in a rag-tag “colony” of Aqrion, the ways of which were fairly harsh. But Kekoa was strong and gifted with his element even at a young age, and as he grew, he became a very good hunter and fighter. This earned him a very well-respected place in his colony. However, Kekoa began to grow tired of the colony's rough way of living, and especially how the others often picked on other creatures (including other Aqrion). He also had a great desire to explore the waters outside of his rather isolated home, and so he left without looking back.

Kekoa went to many places on his journey, even braving some parts of the polar sea, and the deep sea (in spite of having a slight fear of the dark). Only occasionally did he meet with other Aqrion, most of them much friendlier than those he knew in his old colony. One of these encounters in particular proved to be the most eventful. Kekoa arrived on the edge of what he had been told was the Resident Colony's territory in the midst of a powerful storm. There, he saw that another Aqrion, only slightly younger than himself, had somehow gotten trapped by the waves very close to shore. It was fighting the waves desperately, but it could not hope to fight them alone and win. Without much thought, Kekoa rushed to the other Aqrion's aid. Together, the two anchored themselves to a rock by their tails, Kekoa putting a fin over the other Aqrion to keep it from being washed ashore, and doing his best to keep himself and the other close to the sea floor.

Because Kekoa had taken the brunt of the storm, his fins were badly torn. The other Aqrion, after thanking him hundreds of times over, quickly introduced herself as Odessa, and urged him to come to her colony so that he could be healed. Kekoa agreed, not that he had much choice since Odessa started pulling him along before he could actually answer. Although he was healed very well, his fins still bore a few scars. He stayed for a while with the Resident colony, and during that time Odessa often hung around with him. Though she chattered a lot, and acted in a manner Kekoa considered quite unfitting for her age, he ended up enjoying her optimistic company. Other Aqrion in the colony were suspicious of him at first, but seeing how friendly he was to Odessa, those feelings quickly subsided. Before he really knew it, Kekoa began to feel very much at home, finding himself very comfortable in the Resident Colony and soon easily making friends.

Current Life: Kekoa now lives with the Resident colony, and is mate to Odessa. They have no pups of their own yet, but the both of them are content with helping others take care of theirs. Kekoa usually joins in hunting parties that bring food to the hatchery, and also assists with defending the hatchery from attack. When not on duty for hunting or defense, he usually entertains himself and other Aqrion with light illusions, and when inside the hatchery with Odessa, often keeps an eye out for any young Aqrion that might be causing trouble. Kekoa still likes his alone time though, since he journeyed the ocean by himself for a long time, and so quite often he sleeps in shallow waters away from the colony, where light from the moon and stars can reach, and he watches the sunrise before returning.
