Yo, Long time no see peps. I think..you guys are getting bored with my speech and me missing for some time... -.- ;;;Well, here's a recent artwork I was working on. It came to my mind that...I have to be serious, and celebrate..when I can.
The recent event was the Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival. Well, yea..no mooncakes in the piece but a lantern to show it.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival people~
*eats mooncakes with lotus paste* <3Was testing out some...sort of lightning mood here..
What do you guys think? Throw every critique you've got in mind. I'd like to listen about it for this particular piece.

Wow, Max! I'm impressed with the level of detail and intricacy of shading you've put into this--it's definitely steps above your older work!
Though I'm curious to know what's going on at the top of his rump, on the back there--I can't place what some of the lines there are doing. And his mood seems a little gung-ho for a festival, if you ask me. XD;
Still, I quite like the piece! It's a good example of the progress you're making. :3

Isn't the gluteus medius -under- gluteus maximus? Either way, the muscles of the rump tend to be less well-exposed in species capable of sitting, as the body diverts fat there to cushion the hip bones when seated.

I prefer to light the candles and place em in the lantern rather than those electrical lights as "candles" =.= The mood is not right..for me.

Yeah, real fire is always more fun than simulated fire. The problem, though, is that the lanterns are often made of highly-flammable paper...and fire has a terrible tendency of spreading, too.
We don't really have cool things like that in California, though. The 4th of July is about as close as it gets, and the fireworks legal in our state aren't even that interesting.

I think it looks pretty awesome! The arm thats flexing seems a bit short though. Other then that I think the shading is right on!

Ah yes, you eat mooncakes with all sorts of paste/flavours. I personally like the Pure Lotus Paste or the lotus Paste with Single Yolk (double-yolk can be too much at times.
There's green tea, fruit, yam paste and more. Even ice-cream mooncakes are in the market.
Also, they come in different sizes. Minis are the cute ones. X3

I just finished one full green tea with red beam paste.
The mooncake festival sometimes..falls on weekdays..if I remember correctly..and that's where it's not so fun lol

Looks pretty fine to me.
The muscles are accurate and nicely drawn as always.
The only thing I can say is that his snout is a bit too sharply angled.
