Having a love/hate thing going on with this.It was started 'round a month ago or so, but it didn't really call to me. Today, I decided to add some more strokes after all and call it 'finished', as messy and unrefined it is.
Is the sun setting... or rising? What do you think? ;D

The painterly strokes for the background actually look really good, I think. Especially in the sky! It kind of reminds me of a thick mist or fog that blurs the sun behind it. :b
Also, the character stands out a lot more because the background is less refined. :b
I really love his face, btw. Those eyes are so mesmerizing!
