A beautiful picture, but I am unsure about the goddesses.

First row: Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite

Second row: Artemis, Athene

Third row: Persephone

Is that right ?

So good.
I guess that there are: Demeter, Hera, Aphrodite (from the left to the right)
Then Artemis and Athena, but on the lowest part hmm - Hestia? Am I right?Β
Edit: Sorry, I found the explanation in the comments.Β

Lets see:

Top: Demeter, Hera, Hecate
Middle: Artemis, Athena
Bottom: Aphrodite

Is that about right? I based it on their props basically.

You have a keen eye! Hestia instead of Hecate, the rest is all in the spot!

Hemm Hestia?
Her staff seemed to indicate a magic user for me, at least more than the Goddess of the hearth and architecture.

On the other side, you have 3 sisters on the top. It is a great picture.

Indeed, but seems illuminating... similar to if fire (hearth) or torches symbolize her?

Yes, it was fire/flames, donkeys, cranes, and pigs.

That leaves only Persephone. But regardless, the all looks phenomenal. I adore Artemis, Athena, and Hera in particular. Awesome work

dchmelik In reply to Akernis [2018-03-12 08:26:55 +0000 UTC]

Akernis said 'that leaves only Persephone'... by definitions I knew, sure, but this was interesting: 'The canonical number of Olympian gods was twelve, but besides the (thirteen) principal Olympians listed above, there were many other residents of Olympus, who thus might be called Olympians.[5] Β Heracles Β became a resident of Olympus after hisΒ apotheosis Β and married another Olympian residentΒ Hebe .[6] Β Some others who might be considered Olympians, include: theΒ Muses , theΒ Graces ,Β Iris ,Β Dione ,Β Eileithyia , theΒ Horae , andΒ Ganymede .[7] '--Wikipedia:Twelve_Olympians .Β  I forgot a few of those, but of one includes Poseidon (of the oceans, not land such as Olympus) then it'd be fair to include his wife Amphitrite, queen of the oceans, and so on... as well as of course, Metis, whom with Zeus created Athena... which is how I think about it but (as for the others) I don't know the reliability of the source #5 there.Β

dchmelik In reply to Akernis [2018-03-12 08:16:19 +0000 UTC]

I adore them all--maybe all Greeks (philhellene, laconophile) but of course am devoted to Athena as the goddess of art, philosophy, science, civilization we can have that all in, etc., upheld by defencive strategy/martial-arts.Β  Very nice illustration; I had been watching perhaps because of a similar Athena piece by YamaOrce before.

Cerbinwydd In reply to Akernis [2018-03-07 22:42:58 +0000 UTC]

Persephone was never considered Olympian, I don'tΒ think, since she mainly dwells in the Underworld with Hades

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

bastler In reply to Cerbinwydd [2018-03-08 02:38:26 +0000 UTC]

Considering a daughter of Zeus not to be an Olympian might attract a thunderbolt.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Cerbinwydd In reply to bastler [2018-03-08 07:52:45 +0000 UTC]

Zeus has many children who are not Olympians. especially since Olympians are the denizens of Mount Olympus and not merely just gods or demigods sired by them

bastler In reply to Cerbinwydd [2018-03-08 12:17:15 +0000 UTC]

Most listings list Hestia under the 12 in the beginning though. She gave up her position later to Dionysus.
