Description A Tumblr-related request that I figured I'd post here, because slash. Why Moria is a little kid here isn't terribly relevant, though it does make it cuter than if he were trying to hang all over Kuma as an adult.

This was supposed to be cute, but it just got sad when I tried to draw it. I’ll blame the fact that this ship always reminds me of the Jonathan Coulton song, β€œBetter".

Considering that Fukuro and Magellan, (and the Saruyama brothers) weren't referred to as something other than human, I figure that he probably is just a human. I'm not sure what causes some humans in One Piece to be incredibly large, but people like Moria, (who is too old to have been one of the humans modified by Doctor Vegapunk, as he's shown towering over the people behind him at Roger's execution) the extra-big members of the Franky Family and several of the Kuja amazons just seem to come that way.

He does, but if he had them as a kid, it means that either he was born with them, or that his weird appearance is the result of the devil fruit, similar to how Alvida's appearance changed when she ate the sube sube no mi. He isn't the only horned character who has appeared in the series, but there's never been an explanation for the bizarre and diverse appearances that a lot of the humans in One Piece have.

Thats true, you can't necessarily question the appearances of the characters in the one piece world because they all look so diverse and unique. It was probably his devil fruit. Or it could have just been mutation dependent on what island he came from - like the skypeians with their wings.
