I don't know y but I think we all have times like this...u just think the water will be ok Β u step Β right in only to find it's either TO HOTΒ ...or cold Β lol
I myself don't mind pretty hot water at 60 but if it's summer/hot I like my water a lot cooler. lol

Yeah, I tend to be able to take hot water better in the winter, when the cold has reached my bones, but at regular times? Nope.
I still can't fathom how the Japanese find soaking in hot water in the middle of summer enjoyable.

Hot waters~!
This brings back memories!
It's good for tightening your grip on controllers when gaming!
(If you don't mind some red red hands for the night)

I unfortunately can't go in water that's over chest depth, otherwise my chest tightens up and I can't breathe

Japanese bath tubs are not for you, then.

I was going to ask why it should bother you if you were the only black guy then I remembered that sometimes Japan can be a bit xenophobic.
Luckily I can pass for Japanese, but I was worried about my tattoos. The woman at the counter said my tattoos didn't matter, though. So, yay!
There was a guide for foreigners on the wall, though:Β instagram.com/p/9MGWlOjh6V/

Well it was more of being self conscious about being so physically different from everyone else in a room whenΒ we're allΒ nekkid.
This bothered my Mom a lot more than it bothered me.
Also, that western guy in the picture kinda looks likeΒ Julius CaesarΒ with that toga XD

You just need to hit the Tokyo Grandpa(ma) point with some acupuncture.

No local hot-springs in east Texas, and Bathhouses never came into style here either, so I'm not sure I could help you.
Your best bet is to take short soaks until you get used to them.
Other than the older you get the colder you feel.

Actually when I first posted this on Facebook I wrote that it was 60.. But when I went back to the bathhouse a couple days ago it was 50... Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake or if it was true! Because it didn't seem humanly possible, haha. But now that you confirm it's possible it probably was 60 and it was just low for that day. Ghad I can't believe you people!

I can take up to 42 and then 8 minutes in the sauna. I'll build up my resistance, haha!
I'd probably enjoy it more when winter comes, as the cold gets right into my bones at that time. Would be nice to heat up to the core!
