Mine got repainted into a baby-bot. A friend just sent me some ROTF figures about the same size- babies!

A friend did it for me, but I think I could repeat the process. She used acrylic paint, followed up by a coat of a particular bonding glue to protect it. (We actually got the glue to attach something to it, but she realized it would work well for that, too.)
Ehrm... I know you don't know me too well, but we've got a mutual fan friend in Arcane-Angel and she and you have been bouncing characters that caught my interest. What do you think about this: [link]

Can you ask what sort of bonding glue was used? If I can find it here, I can try my hand at repainting some of my toys.

Hmm... looks like it was Weldbond Universal Adhesive. The acyrlics were by Apple Barrel. We didn't pick any particular brand, just went with the cheapest (since quality was pretty comparable across the board). This is the result: [link]

Ooh, not bad at all! I would love to try and get extra Blurr and Starscream toys so I can repaint them to look like my OC's Nightflash and Freefall.
