Description
The breeze of spring flows through my open window, filling my room with the smell of sweet flowers. The breeze grazes my cheek, making me shiver and curl up into the covers. "sweetheart, its time to get up" called out my mother in her honey sweet voice. I opened my eyes slowly and squint them from the bright sunlight shimming into my room. Yawning I get up stumbling to the window and see my aunts car, my heart jumps. I throw on my robe and dash down stairs without a second thought. Bursting through the kitchen door and I see my childish aunt and my best friend. I run to my best friend Oceania and squeezes her to the point of her not being able to breath. She giggles and hugs me back tightly, whispering that we should go play outside. I giggle and run off grabbing her hand, dragging her to the trampling. Tripping over some rocks and stumbling, until I finally touch the trampling. I look up at the bright blue sky with white puffy clouds. "stop daydreaming silly" she says with this giggling smile. As I feel my beating heart and my short breath from running, I think about what would it be like if I had a rabbit. She brushes pass me and gets on the trampling laughing, I climb up the side giggling. As I roll on the trampling I lay on my tummy looking through the black top. Bouncing from her jumping around me, It smashes my face on the black top and I see this white little thing under the end of one of the stands, I try to strain my eyes and tells Oceania to stop jumping and come look with me. She falls down onto her tummy looking through the black with me and gasps, hurrying off the trampling and drags me with her. She sinks her feet into the grass with morning dew on it, telling me to help her lift the trampling quickly. I struggle to lift the trampling, yet some how I manged to do so. She bends down and picks up the fluffy white thing and I let go of the heavy trampling, letting it slam down making a thug sound in the wet grass. I stagger over to her slowly peering into her cupped hands and see this sweet baby rabbit. "oh my gosh it so cute" I say quickly without noticing the wounded leg. Giggling and looking at it then suddenly my smile and giggles disappear. Oceania carefully walks in to the house and I follow silently. " I hope we can save him" she says softly with tears streaming down her face. We walk up to the door and I open it and rush in to my mother, yelling and looking at her with tears forming in my eyes. " calm down, whats going on? " she says in a soft motherly voice with these caring eyes. My best friend walks in with the rabbit and I prepare a warm spot for him, she softly lays him down. My mothers eyes widen and she looks at it. " okay we need to stitch up the leg and get something to feed it with" my mother says quickly. We dash off looking for the things we need, as I look around for needle and thread my heart pounds and my breath gets heavy. I quickly find the needle and thread, I clean it in hot soapy water and put it on a clean tray, taking it to my mother. She puts her zoom-in glasses on and stares as she stitches up his leg, the rabbit cries out in pain and tries to bite my mother but she doesn't stop and keeps going, finishes it up and wraps it up with some ripped up gauze. She sighs in relief and looks at me "he'll be okay for now but he need to eat or he'll die" she says with a stern face and gets up, walking away patting my head. I slowly walk up to the little baby rabbit, its little panting breath echoed in my ears, when suddenly the echo was cut short by a loud band. I jump as I heard the sound, I swing around to find my best friend hunched with a medicine syringe for babies. She comes rushing up to me out of breath "h...here...you can...give him milk now" she says huffing like a panting wolf. I grab the cold milk out of the fridge, pouring it in to a bowl with it splattering everywhere on the table from my shaken hands. I stop and sit the milk down, picking up the bowl and watching the milk spill as I walk to the microwave. I slide the bowl in and turn the microwave on. While I wait I feel my unsteady heart pulsing in my ears, this unpleasant feeling was the worst. My body trembled uncontrollably while I waited for the loud beep from the microwave. It beeped loudly and it echoed in my head. I slowly opened the microwave and took out the warm milk. Filling the syringe up and walking over to the helpless rabbit I stare in remorse. I lean over and opens its tiny mouth, afraid its going to bite me but I stick the syringe in quickly pulling my finger away. I slowly push the milk into it mouth, watching the poor thing lap it up like dog from the syringe. After repeating this three times I leave the warm light on it and go up stairs to bed. Yet sleep didn't pay me a visit that night, I tried to sleep but the soft sound of panting breath echo in my restless mind. Tossing and turning through the everlasting night, morning light filled my room with its warmth. I stagger to my feet and stumbles down the wooden cold stairs stopping at the kitchen door. I slowly walk in and see the little rabbit chewing on the contain he was in. my heart dropped and I finally felt at ease. To this day I still have that white rabbit and it hops around in a playful way. The feeling of raising a injured rabbit back to health, it fill with heart pounding feelings and the over whelming feeling of joy.
