Description
The name of "Carrie" for Joey's mom is derived from her possibly-fanon surname in the Japanese; Kawai. Similarly, Joey's father was rather off-the-cuff given the nickname "Jonathan" in the sketch comics, based on "Jonouchi," and it stuck.

I figure, that method's good enough for Joey, it's good enough for his parents.

Something I personally keep in mind when writing Mama Wheeler is that while she's mostly worried and tired when we see her in the anime, this is a woman who had the guts to leave her husband, and even made what had to have been the painful choice to leave her son with him, for her daughter's sake. This is a woman who has probably been in her fair share of nasty arguments and who's had some experience hitting where it emotionally hurts the most. I tend to think she and Mai would actually get along quite well once they got to know one another.

Walter, in the meantime, has got his priorities in order.

Joey's outfit is based on Sea-Hawk, who was one of She-Ra/Adora's love interests in the original Filmation series. He appeared WAY less than her other major love interest, but Bow was flighty and couldn't decide between her alter-egos, while Sea-Hawk was quite clear that he liked She-Ra fine when it came to kicking ass, but when it came to kicking back, Adora was his first choice. XD

So I ship them, and Joey's wearing his Sea-Hawk duds when Mai's in her She-Ra outfit. XD
