I just want to say that I was perfectly fine with the old upload page and that the new one is hideous.When I posted the previous page, a whole bunch of people seemed to assume that Hayate's mother was only telling Fujiko she was adopted at all just to be mean. No. While I know that is a thing people do, it bothers me when people assume being adopted means you somehow don't "belong" in a family. Fujiko is thoroughly Hayate's daughter, regardless of birth. It's the "to annoy me" part that was intended as the insult. I am a strong supporter of adoption, even though it does sometimes go wrong even in real life and goes wrong even more often in anime. (OMG is anyone here even passingly familiar with Guyver? Makishima, you guys. An adoption story even more messed up than Kaiba's.)
It is not actually in sixteen seconds. I don't know how long it takes Fuji to run across the yard, and neither does she. She just likes how the number sounds.

...kids are so random. They jump around too much, and that's why I find them annoying. Though, I think I was fine when I was a kid. Of course, I think I recall not being able to figure out how to word what I'm thinking, so I might've seemed random to other people.
Hmm... I guess I wasn't certain about whether or not she was adopted (but I thought she probably was, at least in some way since it can refer to more than one thing), but, at least the way I think of someone lying about adoption, it's not that being adopted is a insult as much as it being a possible way of saying "There's no way I could produce a kid like you" or "I don't accept that I have produced a kid like you". So then it's more about being in denial.
Neat sounding numbers are neat. Hmm... slightly unrelated, but, when I was around her age, I named my chair at the table 'Down' (and carved it into the wood - well, I think I didn't want to get the chairs mixed up after I picked one to be mine and named it for that reason), because I thought it sounded like a pretty name somehow, and named my brother's chair 'Up' (despite thinking it's a weird sounding name) just because I thought it would go with 'Down'. It's possible I thought of Down that way because it sounds similar to Dawn. Hmm... too bad I didn't realize that at the time, though. Then I could've named them Dawn and Twilight (but I'd have probably misspelled Twilight) or Dusk. Hmm... Yeah, Dusk sounds neat. And it would probably have been pleasing to my brother, since he'd always liked the dark characters on TV.
