Marvel's biggest and most popular superhero in the real world. In the Marvel world however, he's a bit of a small fry who gets no respect. Ok, he gets some respect, especially since he became a regular member of the Avengers.

Peter Parker got his powers when he was bitten by a genetically engineered spider, but it wasn't until later after his Uncle Ben's murder that he decided to use his powers to fight crime as Spider-Man.

Spider-Man's not really a personal favourite of mine, but he is a fun character and you can't argue with the mainstream success he's had. Some of his games have been pretty good too.
