How was everybody's christmas vacation? Mine was great. I didn't get to do a lot of shooting, but spending time home with the family is always nice.

I can't recall whether I already posted a picture of the huge railroad bridge over the river Oker in Oker (we're economical with names), a part of Goslar. Anyway. This bridge was built in 1866 as part of the railway line Vienenburg-Goslar. It is part of the east end of Oker's railroad station, and also part of the divide between lower Oker and upper Oker, the informal parts of the suburb. There is quite some debate which part is the better part, but there can be no denying that the bridge looks better from lower Oker, even if the sun is bad. This is due to the fact that a concrete bridge was added later for the industrial spur to Oker's many metal works. It actually matches the shape of the original bridge quite nicely (it is the rear-most part on this picture, after the short gap), but it just doesn't have the same level of decoration.

On a completely unrelated note, my deviant watch is way too large again, and it'll take me a long time to get through all of it again. I'd like to speed up this process in the future, and I'd also enjoy a nice flame war, so please comment and post who I (or for that matter everyone) should unwatch.
