Not normally big on celeb portraits, but you picked one of the best subjects possible and rendered her to perfection. Detailing, mood, shading, transitioning, use of light ... all fabulous! Proportions are remarkable, but I think it's the texturing that really sets this apart. Fantastic!!!

Thank you, Zdeno. I find that being a good observer is just as important to my artwork as working at the craft itself. Understanding why other fellow artists work is special is an important element in creating special work of my own. You have to be a fan of art in general before you can be a good artist yourself. I don't think you can separate one from the other. You can clearly see this in your work as well. The other aspect I love about your work is that you can still clearly see that it's all done by hand WITHOUT a single piece of manipulation. I see alot of "hand drawn" work on DA that looks so much like a photograph that it loses all those elements of what makes hand rendered work so special. If it looks so much like a photograph that you cannot tell the difference, then why not just take the picture? Your gallery is stunning and you can easily see that this is the result of a greatly skilled hand, a passion for your work, and a spritual connection to the extraordinary aspects of the human condition. It was indeed a privilege to experience your gallery and I look forward to more of your work in the future - all the best - Kurt

Your words are true. I have the same opinion as you. I like when drawing their distinctive features and it is not just a copy of the photo. Although, unfortunately the photo is a good basis for a good drawing. Therefore, I try to add some of my artwork with personal elements. Trying to find a personal style that will typical for me...
