Looking back, if we had just played along - Betzen would have returned our possessions in a more timely manner. It's because of camera position, the camera was a tad further away in the last page, the box is bigger because the camera position is closer.

The camera, to me, seemed closer in the last page, as the focus of the last page, was to introduce Desmond

Well the main focus in the last page was Desmond, but she/he probably mad the box tinier because, lol who cares about the box. In this scene, I believe the main focus was about what the box held.

How does Seelena "suspect" all these? Also, what's the difference between a trophy wife's ring and an ordinary ring?
And why the protegee has to hand these items over? Couldn't a flunky just put them on the desk?

She suspected that Alina's "key" was a doll because of what Betzen said when Alina asked her about the doll.
Difference between any ring and THAT ring is a name written on it and memories and feelings this item brings.
And well, Desmond could, but miss Betzen just wants him to hand these items over. There's no secret.

Oh, so the "suspected" part is restricted to being a doll only? Okay then.
As for the ring, however, engraving costs around β¬10.59, although I assume in the medieval times, when the engraving was done by hand, it was far more expensive. Now, memories and feelings are not exactly visible but do not dare telling me anyone has more memories and feeling for their life partners than I do!

Well I assume they would have to leave their worlds eventually, and I bet they can't change their exit location either. Basically when they leave they have to return to the point from which they left from.

Imagine once they have taken the photos, and then after they're developed images of strange entities appear in them - entities that weren't seen before but we're there the whole time? Whose to say they were't alone in there respective worlds the whole time and were not been observed by these beings!

For some reason Desmond looks broken to me. I don't know why, there is just this look in his eyes like all the life has left him. Maybe I'm just looking too much into it.
Also, I'm curious. Do they physically leave when they go into their own worlds? And if so, when they returnΒ do they go back to the spot they were in when they left? Is that how Betzen can keep them locked up and controlled? Can they just refuse to go back to 'reality'? Is that an option? Gosh, this story is so interesting!

Okay, first it was "As much as it pains me to say it, Betzen did what she had to do to keep order."
Now it's "Looking back, if we had just played along - Betzen would have returned our possessions in a more timely manner."
It's almost as though she's trying to justify Betzen's actions. Is this the beginning of Stockholm's Syndrome? I sure as hell hope not.

Some interesting observations.
Doc boy is just standing there bleeding. No emotion showing. Strong arm is looking at Betzen as if questioning her doing this.
I am taken back by Seelena' comment about Rebekka......a trophy wife? She could be a widow of some one lost in a battle in these realities. She is so quick to judge knowing very little about others not an admirable quality.

I'd imagine its physically since they're being tasked with taking cameras with them. If it was mental those would stay behind with their bodies.
Also, lady-doctor's henchmen had to wait until the main character returned before kidnapping her. If they basically just drifted into a coma, they'd have been able to just carry her away while she was out.

Since Betzen's expecting them to take cameras with them, my first instinct is that it's physical...but then again, "mind over matter;" if they go to their world carrying a camera, even if it's a mental journey they might have the things they have on them (clothes, key, camera, et cetera), so it could just as easily be one, the other or both at once.
In fact, my money's on the "both," since (a) it's clear Betzen expects some physical manifestation of this ability through these tests, and (b) if it were a fully-physical ability, it'd essentially be teleporting and the girls could simply have escaped the instant they have their keys back. So I bet they leave mentally, but access a completely different dimension/plane/etc. and only go back to where they were in reality when they return to it. Or something like that; so I guess we'll wait and see, won't we, hmm? ^_^

Well, this got interesting...
So now that the subjects are given their "key" items back, will they try to escape or will they conform to the experiment? And if they conform, what does Betzen have planned for their secret worlds or their ability? And what about Mai's world? What is her key and what is her world?
I'm hoping that all this will be answered in the next additions to your comic! I'm liking it so far!

I expected this but i wouldnt have coroperated, its their private worlds for their own use. Its their safe sanctuary. Its not to be exploited or pried open by anyone else, especially by the likes of the doctor
