Finest Hour - Card Number 62: Starswirl the Bearded“Are you two sure this is not just a wish to see your idol?”
Rainbow Dash looked accusing at the Twilights.
“Absolutely. While we are sure to want to discuss some academic matters, he is the best to help with the magic we will be facing. Here we go!”
For a final time, the energies of the portal swirled and twisted. With a small flash, the figure of Starswirl the Bearded was visible in the portal, and with much hesitation, he stepped out into the future. He was nothing like they had expected. No grandeur or flashy robes, just an old, seemingly tired, unicorn in a bathrobe, carrying some books and a bottle in his bags. He sighted heavily, as the portal closed behind him with a snap. He looked around with a far stare in his eyes, almost like he didn’t see the others in the room.
“I had hoped never to see this place again… But it all appears so old?”
The Twilights looked at each other. Was this THE Starswirl the Bearded from their books?
“He does have the right age…”
“But how does he know about this place? It was top secret!”
“He was never stated to like cider at all.”
“The clothes seem wrong, no bells and hat.”
“But…”
The old unicorn silenced them both.
“Enough of your jibber jabber young ones. Yes, I am Starswirl the Bearded, but it appears that history has been far kinder to me, than I was worthy of. I am assuming this, of course, since you speak of me as I have been gone for a long time.”
Present Twilight Sparkle tried to explain the situation to him.
“Well, yes. It is a thousand years after your time right now. We need your help against…”
He interrupted her again.
“It is about the changelings, right? Or some other threat from the planes?”
Twilight, both present and future, looked at him.
“Wha… how would you know that?”
He sighed heavy, then took a sip from his bottle of cider.
“I, for one, should know that. It was, after all, me who brought them here.”
Next piece of the story
(Final reinforcement for the team, Starswirl the Bearded. He might not be as expected from the stories, but the reason for this will be explained. What happened in his past? What does he have to do with the changelings? How powerful was he? It will all be explored. Also, since he is from the past, the style of the card is of the older style)

Most of the artists I have used art from have any notes on their pages about use of their art, and those that do ask to have it carry their name, and as such does not seem to have a problem with it. So I just provide a name and a link to the original image, and state that it is not done by me. So far no one have told me to not use a pirce of art in any way, shape or form.
But you sound like getting permission is important, so I'll get to work asking the various artist for it, as well as updating or changing the card with art the artists does not want me to use.
