Description
Dirk 's family line! I decided to draw them for reference on hypos and things, and also because his parents look not that much like him and I wanted to show where Dirk got his desaturation from

My personal favourites are Renja, Charles and Gelda. This'll also be useful for anybody who wants to maybe join his family line later on!

Dirk gets his saturation and his markings mainly from his mother's side, and his size and thickness of mane from his dad's as well as the odd marking. His conditions are also from his mothers side, and Charles is effected by a milder strain of them as well, making him occassionally hostile, impulsive and lack the ability to truely care for another cat during his 'spells'. Gelda got a stronger strain of it, and that then passed on to Dirk

---Gelda's side

Gelda
Dirks mother / 11 years old / City / Alive
Gelda was born into a gentle, quite home to breeders-turned-pets Anwyn and Charles. Wishing to rebel from her comfy life, she left the house never to return and ended up running the streets wild with a bad crowd - Phillipe's crowd. She stayed with the gang for a long time before she fell accidentally pregnant with Dirk, who was an only cub, which was rare for lions. She recognised there was something wrong with her cub almost immediately, and all but tried to dismiss him as much as possible and letting his father care for him. When the gang was finally disbanded, she fled for all she was worth but was eventually captured and taken to the pits after being judged too violent and unreliable for any other practice. She spent many years here before, bedraggled and torn up, she finally managed to flee. She made her way to the docks, and found herself a cove, far from the shore and the other people and cats around her. There she lives to this day, happy in her self emposed solitude

Anwyn
Dirks Grandmother / 13 years old / City / Alive
A gentle, caring cat who's past her prime but not changed a single bit for it. She lives happily with her mate in her humble home

Charles
Dirks Grandfather / 14 years old / City
A slightly more grouchy cat then most are used to, but he adores his mate and his humans very much. Effected by spells of 'the nothing', as Anwyn calls it, where he zones out and his prone to occassionaly lash out if approached

---Phillipe's side

Phillipe
Dirks father / 8 years old / City / Alive
Phillipe had always lived on the street in his parents gang before he met Gelda. He had lived there all his life, and the moment he saw her, he fell for her and enranced her to come. When Dirk was born, he found that he felt jealous of the cub for a while, since he stole the attention of both his own parents, and Gelda for a short while. When his mate stopped caring, he settled back to normal. He only started to distance himself as well from his cub when he witnessed the male's facination for dead and injury, sticking his paw into an injured cat's wound and asking how it felt. When the hunters attacked, he feld, but was not fast enough. He realized this quickly and gave up without much hassle. As a result he was put up to sell, and was bought by a blacksmith family as a personal and property guard. He lives with a grizzled old cougar, and has a relatively cozy life now. He doesn't often think about his mate or his cub any more, attention drifted to something else easily

Renja
Dirk's Grandmother / 10 years old / Unknown / Unknown
Renja was the leader of her gang since her escape from her hostile home life when she was small, leaving her brothers and sisters to their fates with only a small care. It is mainly due to her that the gang was wanted for many petty and somewhat volent crimes, ordering things behind her mate's back. She fought tooth and nail for her new family and their new life, but was eventually forced back into a surrender, and she ran. Her location is currently unknown since that day, no cat having seen her since Its presumed she might be dead, but surviving members of their gang report her being too strong to die from her injruies, and it would take the hand of Anubis to truly smite her

Molo
Dirks grandfather / 11 years old / City / Deceased
Molo was the second member to join the gang after Renja, and the two became fast friends, and then fast mates as a result. They had many cubs, and many fun times. He was a relaxed, happy go lucky lion that let Renja walk all over him willfully. He died protecting the younger members of the gang and then finally, in a final act of defiance to the hunters, blocked Renja's escape route with his heavy body to allow her a headstart, the hunters having to move his corpse out the narrow ally before they could follow after the feeling she-cat
