I've wanted to do something related to the great great band Diorama. It wasn't till some days ago I saw their new cd, 'A different life' and with that a picture of them. I decided to do a drawing using one of them as model. It was quite hard to create it. Mostly cause the picture wasn't exactly drawing material but yet it had a great expression.I wanted the colours to be pale, especially his skin.
I feel happy with my drawing though and it means a lot to me as I really like them, they are quite special and inspire me a lot with their lyrics and mood of music.

The title is not a song of theirs though it would be more appropriate, but still I feel it resembles the meaning in a few of their songs, that I like a lot.
Made with soft coal and soft pastels.

... and, it's Torben Wendt, that's even more wonderful, cause you seem to like this band as much as I... their music is so great, it inspires me a lot... so sad and emotional. The new album is just amazing. I think there's no day I haven't listen to it... ^__^

Yeah, they sure are. I like their new album as well, expecially 'exit the grey' and 'why'. However 'I wait for you', 'Drowned' and 'Erase me' is my definitely faves

True, I do love to draw girls more + it's hard to find poses I really like of guys. However since I have my boyfriend to pose for me now there will be some more males in the furture

I just can't understand how you can make the face pale with coal... For me that's a nightmare

Yeah it has, there will another male soon though.. they are just harder to draw and somehow missing the big flowy hair which I love drawing
Some pastels/coal are easier to work with. The pastels I have are quite good to fade and such.

You are intriguing me with this band, Zindy! I'm gonna check to see what it is. It looks very good, it's been a while since you haven't drawn a guy (I love your Ralf's drawings!!)... The title reminds me of (reversed) Metallica's "Fade to Black", such a moving and powerful song!

Yes please do, be sure to listen to 'exit the grey', 'why', 'I wait for you', 'Drowned', 'light' and 'Erase me'. There are other great ones, but these are my definite faves. Their music is very inspirational.

Oh yeah, I so much agree! I really love metal -and heavy metal especially! I live guitar heroes as well, and it's hard to say so in France, they are so "unfashionable"
Bands like Metallica, Judas Priest or Iron Maiden - and guitar heroes like Ingwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai or Joe Satriani are totally inspirational for me: I like the strength and the tremendous energy/enthusiasm that emanates from their music!
On the opposite, I love to hear "girlie" music like Rihanna or Christina Aguilera: I tend to be quite bipolar in my musical tastes (and I developed this habit of wearing black metal shirts with big earings and pink lipstick
