Haha, itd be cool to have a human skull but I think it would freak me out to have one in my home. That one was painted from a prop we had at school

Oh, makes sense. Cool idea, since you sculpt with clay, you can make a human skull and paint it, then use it to scare visitors.
Okay, um, how do I ask this? You know when you paint with the colour, how do you manage to sort of blend it like that? Even with the occipacity set to below hundred and using that brush that gets lighter the softer you press on the pad I cannot manage it. I end up just painting over the colours I already applied.

Let's see if I'll manage to explain it 
New versions of Photoshop also has something called a mixer brush, it blends the colors nicely if you get the hang of it. Gives a traditional feel I think.
Then you could also take a look at ctrlpaint.com, they have a free smudge brush pack somewhere there and a tutorial to go with it. Id recommend going easy with smudge in the beginning though, you really shouldnt rely on it if you dont know how to blend in other ways.
Hope this helps, sometimes it feels like I just make things harder to understand when I try to explain
