PLEASE FULL VIEW - Lots of detail!

This has taken me four days...four whole days to finish. That's from penciling through to inking and then colouring, although admittedly, it was the colouring that took ages. I just wasn't happy right near then end and spent all of this afternoon messing around with getting the shadows and all the little details just right...well...I like to think I got them right. As always there will be bits I'm not 100% happy with, but it's certainly one of the best pieces I've done in a while.

I recommend the full view, as this is a large image size than normal, just to show off all the little details. The snakes were the hardest to do, as each one is unique...well...as unique as I could make them, and are dotted around all over the picture.

I wanted to draw a Medusa that wasn't exactly like the traditional design, so made her look a bit more snakelike herself, kinda half human, half...reptile. I also wanted to make her seem attractive, so had her posed like that to show off her body and her wings and her tail. The gown she's wearing took me ages to colour, but I think it was worth it, as the way the colours fade make it almost look like water

I guess I like to think there's a kind of story in the picture too...as reflected in the mirror shield is an unwitting soldier, instead of her own image. She is also chained to the ground by one leg...suggesting people have tried to treat her like a monster and cage her, but she has always partly managed to escape.

Anyway, make of it what you will. I'm kinda glad its finished now. I have been working on it so long, every time I open PaintShopPro I get deja vu!!
Heh, ah well...enjoy!

Oh and Miss Sand Demon is gonna be my next BIG project...so that's another one to watch out for!
