Zurg actually looks like a dark lord instead of a wanna be Darth Vader with horns.

Haha, thanks, you're probably one of the very few that likes his mustache. XD XD I modeled him on a whim after 19th century styles; quite fashionable among young men those were back then. XD

This is so fucking cool you have no idea. To actually have real life looking representations of the original show and the movies is just...beyond epic.

I have no idea why Woody needs a 'stache and I think if you thinned out Mira's face, she'd look closer to her cartoon self while still being your style. As of now, her face seems too boxy. She's meant to be this frail girly-girl-lookin' thing that's regal, but yet has this fighting spirit inside of her. I also feel Booster could do without the central horn or it could simply be made smaller. Zurg is wildly different in style but I think you should leave him alone. I certainly hope this helps a bit and doesn't come off as nit-picky.

This is out-fucking-rageously cool. It's blowing mah dumb cracker mind! If I had even one tenth of your skill, I'd offer critique. I'm mesmerized by the exquisite details; belts, pocketwatches, fray, trim. There's an incredible balance to the whole thing. This is far and away my favorite personal spin anybody's ever put on these characters. I can't wait to see it as it progresses!

First off, I love the way Jesse looks. I keep looking back at her and finding something I didn't notice before. She's spectacular.
As for criticism I think the only weak point is Mira. Someone above already commented on her body, and I agree with them, but what I noticed was her face shape. Some of it's the blue lines, but she could definitely use some "femming up." Her jawline is pretty manly, and I think her chin may be off center. Her cheek bone may jut out a bit too far too, but that's the part where I can't tell if it's just the blue line messing with my perspective.
Otherwise this is absolutely astounding. I'd love to see your take of NOS-4-A2 someday.

I swear its almost like you can make anyone or anything into something so appealing. I never expected woody and Jeese to look so beautifuly detailed, along with Buzz and Mira.
XR is a complete suprise. I just wondr what XL might look like...

I enjoy critiquing. Helps me to learn what does and doesn't work in a piece.
I usually don't have the time. But since I enjoy your artwork, and you requested one, I will.
Now, I will try to be as throrough as possible.
Feel free to object to anything I say. You may have a reason for having done it that way.

(I marked it up a little. Sorry for defiling a copy of it, but I thought it'd help if my text became a little hard to read.)
Anyway, there are a few problems I noticed-
One is that buzz lightyear's boot-toe-plate seems to curve smoothly, like a half sphere on one foot (his left) and on the other it kindof dips in the middle. I don't know why this is... I sppose it could be a detail obscured by perspective so really, that's nitpicking.
Two is a small problem that I see a bit in your work. While the amount of detail you put into your work is really, really impressive sometimes... like Woody's pant leg... it comes across as obsessive. Cloth does fold and pull... but I have never seen it pull that tightly around a person's knee.
Three is Wood's Arm. It kindof seems to curve oddly. Judging by the position of the arm... and the wrist... and the elbow. and the angles of the sleeves and other curves.
Four is Mira Nova's legs. They seemed a bit off at first, without looking into it. They are. The center of balance... while almost correct leaves her a little heavy to the center of the page and her heel is much further back than her head or torso. This combination creates the illusion that she is falling forwards.
Five is Mira Nova's hand. It's very flat as compared to the rest of the illustration. And... compared to her head it seems to be rather small.
I checked a lot of proportions, centers of balance and really you did a REALLY nice job. Very thorough. I was trying my best (really nitpicking) and those were all the flaws I could find.
Expressions are flawless (Buzz lightyears smirk made me chuckle) and despite rendering them in an entirely different art style they really do look like themselves.
You put a lot of detail into it all and you did a great job balancing the composition.
My favorite part was Zurg probably. The detail you put into the fluttering cloth and the belt, etc. was absurd.
The one flaw that this piece TRULY suffers from is a lack of Warp Darkmatter.
Joking XD I doubt it would be possible to put him in without needing to put in another character to balance him out. If at all.

Thanks for the long critique; I'll see what I can do to fix some of the errors. Mira needs a full check-up anyhow; I'm not entirely happy about her either.
Centers of balance: these are a bit tricky due to small flaws and imbalances in normal human physiology. I got photos of people that stand in a fashion that makes them look as if they're about to keel over any moment now, while in truth retaining perfect balance. They might be f.ex. putting their weight on the outer edge of the sole, which isn't your textbook way of standing.
Details: I don't always notice at first that I've perhaps added too much detail somewhere. I tend to listen to audio books while drawing, and often get so immersed them I just add rocks and ground and debris--only to later figure out that some particular space might look better without so much texture. XD
Sorry I'm so late in answering--weeks are just leaping past so quickly I hardly even notice it. >_<

No problem!
If I didn't rely on the computer for communication with all my friends (I communicate with my significant over DA notes primarily) I probably would take EVEN longer to respond/do things myself.
Even still, I have a bad habit of neglecting messages. I try to get back to them eventually.
However time passes so fast...
But I digress.
Believe me, I understand XD
Sorry if it was too long XD
Oh yes, sometimes getting balance right can be a bloody nightmare....
I have the exact same problem. Music... immmesion... For composition and time's sake it's usually best to simplify some things. But I usually never use to look at the piece (as a whole) til later. I'd focus too much and detail everything I created. It's not that bad though. You make it work pretty well XD Like the fading effect on the background of that picture with Zerg.
