You, one so versed in an age without glory or gods of thunder would not know, or understand why some become mad at such sights.  Such arrogance, to mock the old gods who my fathers and grandfathers and old bloods gave praise to.  These things were not meant to be forgot, but cherished, and Marvel's works will make forgotten the power and the glory that stirred in the old ways.

The shame is that the Marvel interpretation is the only version that's going to live on, the only one people are going to think of when a man says "Thor".  Unless some bad ass out there picks up the mantle and makes some real god damn mythology movies or video games, the beloved Norse mythology is going to slip back into the public libraries of the world and be forgotten.

I agree that the Marvel version has become synonymous with the original and that's bad, but i couldn't take you seriously until now because you sounded like a religious zealot.

In a way, I am a religious Zealot for all mythologies and histories.  Don't particularly believe in anything but in what I know to be truth.

Even if I was, a Zealot isn't necessarily a dumb man, just a man unwilling to break his own waves.  I wouldn't discount a man based on religious dogma or belief, as spirituality is a mere way of coping with hardships and strife.  As Robert E. Howard said "I have known many gods, he who denies them is as blind as he who trusts them too deeply."

and it's "loosely" inspired by the Norse Mythology, not a  faithful transcription of it relax, they did the same with Olympians, at some moment Egypt mythology and a couple of others.

well, actually it did happen for a while when the X-men went to Asgard, Loki tricked her and the rest of the team. long story short, she was deemed worthy to become the new goddess of thunder but decided to give Thor his title (and powers) back to return with the x-men. something like that, it's a very old issue actually   but a great read because some other x-men went totally badass like Dani Moonstar who became a Valkyrie and kicked ass

wow thanks for that explanation comics sure have some strange storylines haha. definitely looks badass as an asquardian. the comics seem really hard to get into or do you just 'hop onto the train?'

you are very welcome ahahah the thing with comics is: never expect a linear storyline. there are so many crossovers, reboots, parallel dimensions, "what if" situations that you just can't look at it like a tv-show or a movie movies by the way are a complete separate universe, just like video games (Marvel vs capcom) but I am glad I could help you with Storm she is so badass!!! nothing to do with the movies

I have jumped in on spiderman but It is annoying having missed a lot of the storyline before then lol. yeah the films really didn't seem to do much for characters like cyclops or storm their personalities seemed so 'generic' lol. I love that they have made thor a woman now, I think that was a good idea and will be interesting to see what happens with that.

actually I am very glad to read your comment Thor is actually not a woman, but the one who wields Mjolnir is, which is different; Yes, she is called Thor instead of Lady Thor which I salute completely.  same with  Sam Wilson becoming Captain America for a while. I really don't see why people take it as a big deal..

but well.. (and yes, movies did horrible horrible portrayal of some characters. Darwin shouldn't have DIED! Bishop could have surived instead of exploding, Storm is a carpet instead of a powerful leader and Cyclops (which is not my favourite ) is only a shadow while he's the co-leader and a fucking beast. WHY did they make it look so bad? over-exposing Wolverine (who is my favourite character of all time, but geez, he lost of his substance and shouldn't have been some sort of a leader like they made him be :/  it's so unfitting.)

anyway, it's ancient history   I am all for reading the new books

yeah I was wondering if they are making thor a female what has or will happened to the male thor? lol. I do like these changes though could be interesting to see what happens. yeah that is so very true, don't know how darwin (who can adapt to anything) dies from shaw's power lol. wolverine really is getting far too much attention he is awesome that's for sure but they never seem to focus on other character's stories and personality.
