Hm... well I think I got my first digital camera in 2005, but I never tried to take photos with the idea of being artistic in mind. Even now, I only have a simple point-and-shoot. Sweating a little... I started aiming for more "artsy" photos about eight months ago, I suppose? Basically when I joined deviantart.
