If you have nothing to hide then you shouldn't have to worry. Card layouts aren't allowed on DA. Unless you create everything yourself from scratch including the blank card itself it's against the rules.

I knew someone who was banned for doing the same thing your friend is doing.

And even if he did manage to somehow get an actual email from Nintendo and it's not forged DA places a legal binding copyright to the artist on every image, which is why it states quiet clearly in the rules that all art MUST be done 100% by the artist, and that includes the gray area of fanart. to be classified as fan art the user must make everything in the image by his or her hand.. not simply taking images he found and slapping them together.

Cards have been removed in the past and whole groups and deviants have been removed. and FWI.. the journals you all are making.. is not only going to end up getting him banned but all of you as well.

Even if Nintendo allows it, DA still has rules stating that you must only upload your own art that you created. True, you can upload things such as free to use bases and backgrounds so long as you give credit. I see that is being done most of the time however, if it's from something as big as Nintendo, Da will often remove them if reports are brought to their attention.

A friend of mine made fan-made yu-gi-oh cards. He gave proper credit and everything yet DA still removed every single card. because it was copyrighted regardless if he had permission or not.

It doesn't matter. Those are DA's rules. Now, if everything was created from scratch then there'd be no problem.

Why not make upload them to photobucket and link everyone to them? They allowed on image websites like that and there's no rule about linking to a photobucket image.

I'm just going by the rules. DA has shut down many groups before a few of them which have been around for years. It doesn't matter if it's one person, a few friends or an entire group itself. If it breaks the rules DA will remove it.

Still. These are several groups, many of which have been around for years. They've been attacked by people claiming that the cards break the rules before, and the groups still stand.

And like I've said, other groups who have felt just as invincible have been taken down in the past. Ever hear of the Butthurt Brigade? They were a group that existed to poke fun at other deviants someone would link someone's art or page and some members would go to the person's page throwing insults and harassing them. They thought they couldn't be shut down but, DA proved them wrong.

The reasons were different but, it proves that no matter how long a group has been around, how many members it has or how strong they seem to be, if it breaks DA's rules then DA can shut them down.
