Sadly, no cosplays for me and my sis this year, but heh, still very much fun to be had!

Heh, it's ok XD Also yus you've been very quiet on the homefront! Granted so have I but I've been doing a lot of cosplay stuff and generally trying to tidy up my room because girlfriend coming over in May >->
Awwah, thats ok it'll be one of the first times I see you out of costume first XD I have two new ones and I'm also bringing back the bun for a photoshoot, not 100% looking forward to that because of how long it takes me to get the makeup off but ah, the things we do for cosplay! I got Ninja Brian for the kimono group and Alphys from Undertale, I just finished making my second Mettaton thing for that one XD
YEAH NOT LONG NOW OMG I'M NOT DONE I'M GONNA CRY. We should actually try and do some sort of meetup this time instead of just randomly bumping into one another XD Also don't forget new ep of Transformers RID today!

This year, we are in London for a couple days prior, so we'll probably be down in Southampton fairly early afternoon on the Friday, then leaving on the Monday as usual, so we'll defo have our usual sunday night haha. I'm planning on doing the iron artist again, and I know you do that too, so haha, we'll do that
I knew there was going to be some Undertale cosplays! That was one of the things on my list of things I bet we were gonna see
Hummmm...I was waiting for the schedule (which will probs be out next week sometime) so I know what we'll wanna do, but we can always go for lunch/dinner/whatever at some point, and hopefully attend panels together haha

I head down on the Thursday and head home on the Monday X) So I'll be about! Just poke me or something X) And I'm sure I will be at the iron artist again, can't draw for shit but I go with my friend anyway!
Yeah there will be Undertalers XD I know I'm doing Alphys, my friend is doing Sans, there has been another Sans confirmed, a Toriel and I think an Undyne? Not sure who else X) So you can cross that one off your Minamicon Bingo sheet! I'm gonna be freezing since most of my Alphys cosplay is basically PJs XD
The schedule normally comes out a few days before, let alone a week XD Normally when I'm at the point where I no longer have access to the internet so I can't plan my stuff until Friday! Food time sounds good though X) I'm always down for food!

Hewwo, bit late but Happy New Year XD It was also, spent most of it travelling (travelled to my sisters the day before Christmas Eve, travelled home Christmas Day and have spent every day since travelling back and forth from a lady I'm catsittings house) so meh, but at least I've also had a bit of time to myself too. How was yours?

No problem Mine was fine. Christmas was fun, though, a little less eventful than some times, with quite a few less presents Doesn't bother me as I prefer not being given crap I won't use/don't want.
For New Years, I had some of my favourite sake with my sister and was actually okay enough to watch the fireworks on tv with the others this year (first time in 2 years! I've been having to cover my head with a pillow when I wasn't stable enough). Gonna go back to trying to lose weight this coming week haha. Need to control my diet and exercise or boom, still a size 16, but a bit on the flabby side. :L

Oh I know that feel, I got a hot water bottle for Christmas this year. I will never use it, I don't use hot water bottles I have my chestnut kitten if I ever need something warmed up (she's a thermal teddy thing that you can microwave for a little bit, has warming bead things in). I know I shouldn't be unappreciative and shit but I'm never going to use it and I'll feel bad if I get rid of it, so now I'm stuck with it sitting around doing nothing. I prefer to get amazon vouchers >->
I watched the fireworks on my computer, I always do XD Too many people there to feel like I want to actually be there, I'd rather be in the warm. Hugged Ping for a lot of it (my family don't really do New Years, mum goes to bed at 9pm and my brother goes out) and just chilled with my last J2O. I'd like to diet, but I'm at the point where I've got so much wrong with me I don't know where to start.

With that kind of present, I keep it for a year or two, and when they've surely forgotten, I give it to charity as it's unused My mum gave me a weird monster hat/hood/scarf hybrid thing, made of cheap purple fur and had rough feeling insides (which I can't STAND in anything on my hands). I waited for a while, and put it in the M&S Shwop bin to go to charity, as I was like someone will like it, just not me.
I just try to control what I eat some. If I eat too much processed food, I struggle to lose weight, only found out cause a doctor helped me lose weight and drop my sugar intake when I was threatened with possible diabetes. He said in his opinion it wasn't, and in a couple months, it was defo not. I can't be as extreme as back then, cause of my epilepsy, but I find I can at least drop and maintain a certain level when I try hard enough

My mum has the exact same hot water bottle too, so I know everything about it. Where it is from, how much it cost etc. and I know that shouldn't affect things but it just feels like she got it either for herself or from someone else and just decided to dump it on me instead because she couldn't be bothered to actually try and get me something she knew I'd like. Then again, that's my sister for you, she expects you to go out of your way to get her something expensive that she's going to like but won't do the same for you. I mean come on last year she gave me some half used makeup. She knows I'm allergic to most makeup but decided to give me all her old rubbish stuff. Took me months to get rid of it.
I'm trying that now, just cutting down my portions because I live off easy to prepare food. I can't cook with fresh ingredients and I can't expect my mum to cook for me all the time, so I'm just cutting down my portions to start with. I need to muster up the courage to go back to the doctors, my leg issues are beyond painful now plus I keep just randomly cramping for no reason, like I'll reach to scratch my back and my shoulder will cramp up, or I'll turn over in bed and my side will cramp, just doing stupid meaningless movements like that.

My friends used to clearly do that. Often, with the particular friend I'm thinking of, we'd be like "OH...a purse...how kind of you..." and you'd KNOW it was something one of our other friends had given her for her birthday, ad she was recycling for someones Christmas present. I'd just gave all the garbage from that friend to charity. If you didn't want it, why would your LESS girly friend want it
As for the food control, simple things like having an espresso instead of a latte help a lot. Yeah, it's REALLY not as nice, but it's a hell of a lot better for you without the sugary syrup and milk fat Or adding some vegetables to your dinner to bulk it out. I often put steamed ones, or green giant sweetcorn with mine and eat it first haha.
I have also heard putting your food on a smaller plate can make it feel bigger and help you not feel phantom hunger but who knows lol.

I need to find a local charity shop which takes a lot of this stuff, the charity shops near me pretty much only take clothes so stuff like hot water bottles, make up, shampoo etc ends up being either thrown away or just rots in my bedroom for ages until I see someone mention it then I give it to them if they want it. Like my Pokemon cards, I still love Pokemon to bits but my cards have just been sitting about in tins taking up space. I never really had anything amazing so today my niece visited (she is a big Pokemon fan) and mentioned her card collection, I offered them to her and she took them off my hands.
Yeah I don't drink coffee XD I'm just doing baby steps right now because I can't just completely 180 stuff. I've gone off fizzy drinks quite a bit though, like I bought an 8 pack of cherry coke today and that'll last me months because I rarely drink them. I just occasionally have one to satisfy the craving that crops up once in a blue moon and so that I have them in there to offer guests should I have any. I've been on flavoured water a lot lately which I know still has sugar in but nowhere near the amount I used to drink (This 1L bottle of strawberry and kiwi water I have has like about 4% of my daily dose of sugar in it whereas 1 330ml can of cherry coke has 41% sugar. I used to down around 4 of them a day, sometimes I'd down up to 8 depending on what was going on). I've also been eating chocolate less and I've instead been on the bananas XD I got a banana craving right now, which I guess is good because my doctor thinks I might have a potassium deficiency. Won't know for sure until I can muster up the courage to get a blood test. Yay for having an overwhelming fear of needles! \ o /
My mum took me food shopping today because I had a bit of a meltdown last night in regards to the fact I was fat. I don't like being my weight but being me it is really hard to loose it because I rely on sugar highs so much and I can't just cut that out of my life completely, I'm an addict. So she took me food shopping and got me stuff that is /better/ for me in regards to what I have in the house. So stuff like cauliflower and broccoli cheese, pasta dishes, soup and tins of sweetcorn and carrots that she said she'd cook for me.
I can confirm that the smaller plate thing does in fact work, I've done it. My mum has 3 sizes of plate, we call them "cake plates" (the smallest ones, bit bigger than one of those plates you get tea cups on but smaller than a normal plate), "Dinner plates" (regular sized plates) and "Mates plates" (they're the biggest ones and are called as such due to normally just using them to cook enough food to share on). We used to eat dinner on the mates plates so portions were huge, now we eat them on the dinner plates and looking at all the food it made you feel full just seeing it all so portions were cut down. I would go down to the cake plates but then I'd only be eating like 2 potatos and a spoonful of corn because that's about all you can get on them XD But yeah the plate theory does work, as does the bowl version.

Charity shops won't take make-up if it's used or open. It has to be completely sealed for hygiene purposes. They also won't take electronics, but almost everything else they'll take You could try using This search tool to find local ones ...it has most of the ones near me in it's database
I only drink 1 or 2 soda style drinks a day, and personally, I drink diet. I understand a lot of people don't like sugar free or diet for varying reasons, but I was brought up on it and only like a few full sugar drinks The rest of my liquid intake is water, sometimes sparkling, sometimes regular. If you like cherry coke, there's nothing stopping you from having it in a balanced diet, as long as you're not binging on other stuff as well. I eat a whole lot of "bad stuff" in my diet, and I still lose weight. It's all about thinking to yourself "Am I actually hungry?" and "Is this really what I need?". I've stopped myself from eating cake in general, mainly because I realised it wasn't worth it. I didn't even enjoy it as much as I once did, so I cut it out. It's now a 'special occasion' food.
As Paul McKenna said "When you're hungry EAT, and when you're full STOP" It's reallysimple as that. Self control is key girl I know you can do it!
Stressing about your weight is one of the problems. Self image is a bitch. Everyone who knows and likes you doesn't even consider it, as long as you can find happiness, they should be happy for you. That is a much longer path, but again, I believe in you Sam!
If you need more sugar, try adding more fruit, as it has a nice source of the better sugars for you (I had to cut them for the diabetes thing, but happily eat them now). Then, you can aide your metabolism and get a "sugar rush" haha. Not the same, but substitution gradually helps to ease off so much of the other stuff. Bananas I believe have about 15g or so of it's own natural sugars, and the benefits in the rest of it mean that it is a much healthier option (I know "duh" lol). I like buying those mixed berry fruit pots from tesco that give you a prepared selection. I think it makes a great dessert every now and then. :3 I often find I crave things like raspberrys more than chocolate nowadays.
The one important thing about dieting, that I've found really helps and goes against what all these others say, is to have a day off. Give yourself one day a week where you allow naughty stuff. You want pizza? It goes on the day off. Want ben and jerry's ice cream? Off day. Mine is Saturday, as we sometimes get take out. This one day a week reminds your body that it still gets fat, so it won't go into starvation mode and make you store as much fat as possible. It reminds your system it gets everything, and thus, it doesn't effect the weight loss. I went from a size 20 to a size 16 and have maintained the 16 from this for 2 years! Other diets get you down, but don't maintain it. The key to it is if you go off of it for say Christmas time, it's not giving your body too much extra of the bad stuff, so you only gain minimal calorific and rich food weight rather than ballooning out of control for not religiously following your 1 lettuce leaf a day diet.
Hope this helps you hun!

The charity shops around here won't take ANYTHING but clothes, so I'll use that search tool when I have a moment to. They're literally just clothes shops, they don't sell anything but. It really shocked me when I went out of town with my mum and we went to a charity shop (Because my mum loves going to charity shops like me owo She loves vintage stores too) that didn't just sell clothes, it sold puzzles and books and tons of other bits too! I was blown away!
You know diet drinks are actually just as bad, sometimes worse for you right? They don't have added sugar in, but they have aspartame and lots of other harmful chemicals in instead which are just as bad for you. People think because they're diet they're good, but they're not, depending on what illnesses you have they can actually worsen them. That's why if I'm gonna have a fizzy drink I just stick with the full fizz, because sometimes the diet version is just as bad so why bother? I mostly only drink fizz if I'm taken to a pub or offered it as a drink at someones house anyway.
I've stopped eating cake too, like you I just wasn't enjoying it. Cake is now almost solely a birthday thing because I enjoy this cake you can get in Asdas, it's a very chocolaty that apparently serves 20 people and my mum gets it every year for me because I love to microwave slices of it >w< It's just munch but it's just a birthday thing now so yus, plus I don't eat it all to myself and it lasts like three months XD
That is a problem I have though, I don't get hungry. The only reason I know that I have to eat is because my mum comes in my room and says "Have you eaten dinner today?" and I reply with no and she cooks me something or she pushes me downstairs and watches as I make myself something. I don't feel hungry, it's rare I actually feel like I need to eat, so I just eat when food is offered to me or I'm told to make myself something. So I have great self control XD I don't eat for days on end and then I realise I need to eat because I feel dizzy or mum points it out.
Thanks, but my main issue is mostly my family. My friends, like you, are mostly all supportive and keep telling me that I shouldn't stress about my weight and that I am fine, but my family are all size 8-10s and are always making snippy little comments here and there. I've been the fat kid of the family literally from birth. I was the heaviest (and bluest) baby and throughout my life I have always been the biggest, in school everyone always thought I was the eldest sister and in school photos they arranged us in "age order" and always assumed I was the oldest. I'm currently size 16-18 in clothes whereas they're all on the size 10s and under spectrum. My siblings constantly point it out too which just adds to my complex, always making snide remarks like when mum parks the car they always say something like "Make sure Sam can get out" but not in a general way, in a "make sure you leave lots of room so fatty can leave the car" kinda tone if that makes sense. I don't get how I'm the biggest, I don't eat anymore than them, in fact I eat less than my brother who pretty much lives on junk and take out, seriously he eats a large pizza to himself and still manages to shovel all the sides down his throat! I struggle with a small, let alone any sides as well!
The problem is I don't crave the sugar, I crave the taste of chocolate XD I tried doing the substitution thing and it didn't work because it isn't the sugar I want, it is the taste and texture of chocolate. It's like my nictoine XD I have been on the fruit more though, like I said I'm on bananas right now but I'm also on honeydew melon and apple slices. I'm not much of a fan of berries but give me apple slices and I'm content for hours.
I'll have to try the off day thing, I used to have this routine where once a fortnight I'd have an off day where I'd order take out and it worked fine, but after that take out I always craved just more and more take out and in the end I caved and that is when my diet ended. Ironically, I gained more weight when I was on my dechox than when I was off it because I had completely cut out chocolate for that month, resulting in me being tired and stressed, which in turn resulted in me drinking more energy drinks to stay awake and eating more takeout to try and keep the craving of chocolate away by replacing it with the craving of takeout. I mean don't get me wrong, I completed my 1 month dechox (and got a new fridge out of the deal!), but I lost a fuck ton more weight when I was back on the choco shortly after.
I have lost quite a bit of weight since at the beginning of my uni year though because I went up to size 26-28 and I'm now back down to size 18, but I would love to go a little bit lower to a size 14. I would be content at size 14 - 16, I feel it is a nice average. Size 12 and below is too small for me, I like being a bit chunky XD
TLDR: Woe is me, all my problems, will try the day off thing and family sucks XD Also something about cake.

Yeah, so I've been told by many other friends with the same issues with diet fizz. I just don't care lol It's what I like, (and personally I have a whole list of issues with full sugar which I can't be bothered going into) but that's why I limit them in my own diet. If I was chugging my weight in diet coke each time, I think I'd have an issue, but one or so a day isn't too bad.
Family can be harsher. My dad used to call me the fattest and be more concerned about my weight than me. He stopped after the diabetes thing because at the beginning I was a robot with no energy feeling sorry for myself. Now he can barely complain when I have maintained the size and he has gained weight since his "big loss". My biggest sis (not the one you've met) also likes to imply I'm fatter with some actions. If we all have to share the car (5 adults in 1 car), she MAKES me go in the front passanger seat and squeezes in the smaller center seat in the back, even though she is the size I was before losing weight and my mum and other sister are smaller I say stuff 'em. If they want to live in a fantasy, they can. I wasn't always chunky, but I am happy and have accepted myself.
I've also had friends who eat WAAAAAYYYYY to much to be healthy and remained a stick. Often it means they have a faster metabolism. Sadly, we don't have that and means we gotta work harder, but we won't suddenly gain 10 odd stone when we're like 40 as the metabolism slows down. What I read about helping lose weight and boost metabolism was to make sure you have a good breakfast as it starts your metabolism, and that the most beneficial period to do exercise is actually just after eating (obviously not if you're gonna be sick cause of it). In the summer, I'll take a walk up my road after dinner to feel the evening air and get my last exercise kick. It's not essential, but it does help end your day and burn some extra calories. Also making sure not to leave huge periods of time with an empty stomach, or the metabolism will plummet as it thinks you're done for the day Our bodies are an absolute as tbh, but I often spread it so I have the equivalent of Breakfast, Lunch, 4pm Afternoon snack, and then Dinner.
I remember a week into the diet routine 2 years ago, I kept craving a big portion of greasy chippy chips. Never got them. I knew I was stronger and fought to get past it. Chocolate isn't that bad, just limit it. 1 bar every couple days or something You gradually adjust to something you are happy with and also benefits you. I eat chocolate while "dieting", I just make sure I'm not going to regret it and get upset by making it a fair but smaller portion.
And that is a fantastic loss! You shouldn't feel bad at all, the highest I ever got was 22, and that was at my absolute worst. Dropping 10 dress sizes is amazing! I want to try to get to 14 as well, but I am happy with being a 16. I honestly don't think anyone in my family can get below a 12. (My mum wears 10s, but she's really a 12...she's a bit funny with her size and won't admit she's bigger than that.) Positive thinking = positive loss. You won't get far if you stay hung up and upset over what some of your family think and keep worrying about it. Extra stress can lead to weight gain. Just look at where you've got! It's amazing, because you've been trying as best you can. I know you will continue as well cause you are strong, so I'm sure you can decimate the next dress size!
