Honestly, given how pricy McDonald's is getting, it doesn't seem that far off.

Aw, thank you, and don't worry about it. Just between you and me, because I set up this account to hide from a person who was harassing me at my old account, I put down the wrong date for my birthday since I didn't want them to know this was me. My actual birthday is July 31st. I apologize, I should have let you know that far sooner, but a lot of stuff's been on my mind lately.

I've been doing okay overall, although I attended a relative's funeral yesterday, which was understandably a bit depressing. It's kind of sad that nowadays I often only have the chance to see my older extended family members when someone passes away.

What about you? I do hope you've been doing better. I know how stressful your life often is, and it says a lot about how kind and caring you are that you always ask how I'm doing when you contact me. I hope you never forget to take care of yourself as well. You're honestly a very talented and empathetic person.

You came at a good time; I've just finished editing my latest project, and by now the people from earlier who were responsible for all that drama seem to have left me alone. I've tried to view it as a learning experience, as best I can. 

If you'd like, I can send you a PDF of my most recent novel. I think you'd like it. A major touchstone for the tone of it was the work of the Strugatsky brothers, who wrote old Russian science fiction classics like Roadside Picnic and The Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. I don't think mine is nearly on their level when it comes to talent, of course, but it was fun to work on.

I hope you've continued your own writing and editing as well, because I remember how much of a knack you had for the written word and establishing believable fantasy worlds.

I'm sorry it took so long for the toxic remnants to fade. But you're right; everyone we come into contact with in our lives can teach us a lesson, whether it be 'stay the hell away' or 'avoid at all costs'. I'm glad you made it through, but it sucks you had to go through that at all.

Heck yes I would LOVE to read your newest work!!! I can't say I'm familiar with the Strugatsky brothers, but I've heard their work is in the same vein as Isaac Asimov and H.G. Wells, so I'm extremely excited to read what you've written! Any progress with the Hungering Light series? I miss the vivid vastness of Therma and your collection of misfits.  

I did complete a raw manuscript of the second book of the Ivenhence Chronicles. It's called The Wyntersoul... I think you might have read the first few chapters I wrote a couple years ago? If you'd like to read the whole thing, I'd be happy to send you a pdf of it. =^.^=

It was very difficult for me, definitely. I'm taking a bit of a break from Therma at the moment, since the person responsible for that earlier mess stole so much from that story and used it in a hentai game of hers, of all things. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth, but I do intend to return to it eventually. I love those characters far too much to abandon them.

I'm flattered that you'd like to read my work! Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. Yes, the Strugatsky brothers are incredible creative powerhouses. I could recommend almost any of their books as a modern science-fiction fairy tale with an almost Alice in Wonderland level of surrealism. If you don't mind, could I send my own story to you later in the month? A good friend of mine is doing the cover illustration for me, and then I'd be able to send you a PDF with a proper cover. I am so sorry to hear that. I don't want to un-bury past grievances, but... seriously?!! A hentai game? I mean, I'm as into hentai as the next nerd, but to take someone else's original characters and overly sexualize them is just... beyond words. That is 100% not okay. I understand why you'd want to take a break from the world after that. That kind of personal violation would be enough of a reason to avoid anything.

Yeah. It was beyond scarring for me. I'm glad you understand my point of view there, since it felt like getting stabbed in the back in the worst way.

On the positive side, Dianne is one of my favourite artists, and she's done some amazing commission work for me in the past. She's also a very kind person, much like yourself, and she's told me she's giving her all into making sure the cover looks beyond awesome. ^^
