Yeah, no problem!
I attempt to be a writer myself, and when I saw your stuff it reminded me a lot of myself. I see lots of potential in your writing. I think it could be really great.
If you update the story, I'll read it, please? For the sake of your new humble follower ?
Anyway, don't feel obligated. I just know how far a little support can take a person. I support you maaannnn . I dunno. I'm obviously not very good at delicately conveying what I'm trying to say. I'm sorry. I'm a goober. I can't help it.

aaah, thank you so much! It's been a really long time since someone new has been interested in my stuff (well, I don't update very often, so it's kinda my fault, but yeah )
Thanks for seeing something in my writing, and I'd love to see some writing from you if my writing reminds you of your writing!
Yes, I'm definitely working on it. I have the whole thing written, so I just have to finish editing it. My goal is to start releasing chapters by the end of the summer, and I think I should be able to if I stick to my plan haha. I'm notorious for not meeting deadlines, but I really want to get this story out soon.
Yeah, you're definitely right. Support helps a lot, and I'm so thankful for yours! And I feel ya; it's so hard to get what you're feeling across sometimes. And don't apologize! I think we're all goobers sometimes

My writing. OH, my writing. Well, I have a few chapters drafted for a story I'm working on. They're still pretty rough as I'm still trying to blindly feel my way around how I think the story is all going to fit together. Sadly, I'm not very good at planning . Usually, it takes me writing through it to really figure out what I want.
ACTUALLY, the part of the story I'm working on now was only meant to be for me, but my mom said, "Ooo! No, you should make this into something." And, that's how my 'simple' background story transformed into this whole other thing.
Anyway, if you're interested in reading it, I'd be happy to post it on Deviantart. My stuff might not be as good as yours, but maybe, you could give me some of your awesome writer's advice? Only if you want to though. I know how busy you probably are! It seems, we all are these days.
Ooo, the whole thing written you say? That's very exciting! I know how those goals go though. Sometimes it takes a little pressure from the outside world to help you get things knocked out. Otherwise, I find things tend to linger on..not quite finished. At least that's how I am. So, I absolutely understand.
P.S. I quite enjoy talking about writing stuff, so if you're ever in the need of a brainstorming buddy, message me. It's nice to have people to blabber to sometimes.
P.S.S. I'm glad you understand my gooberness!

Ah, that's ok! Sometimes it's hard to plan ahead, but that's usually the way that I work haha. I make a chapter by chapter outline and kind of balance the chapters across the events so that the story fits the standard plot curve. But everyone has their own way of writing, so that's cool ^^.
Oh, that's pretty sweet. I don't let my mom read anything that I write lol. I'm very protective of my writing around the people who know me.
Yes, yes!!! I would love to read it and help you out the best that I can. I should be able to find time as long as you don't mind a response about week after you post it. If you wouldn't mind, I could also edit it and send you more like line by line suggestions. Editing would help me out too with my own stories and with all of my English major studies.
Yep, you captured that so well ^^. That's exactly how I feel on most occasions.
P.S. I would love to! It's so nice to have other people to talk about writing with. If you want, you can either note me or add me on Skype. My name is Ripplestar4 on there too.
P.P.S. Haha, goobers for life!!

I understand the being protective thing too. I'm trying to get better about that, because I know I can only improve through letting the things I write be seen, but sometimes it is very hard. Especially, since I enjoy writing things that can be a little morbid, and I think that brings to light a side of myself most people don't know. For whatever reason, I feel like writing naturally exposes vulnerable things about us that can be very hard to share. I've found myself more than once unintentionally writing about things that were emotionally bothering me.
When my friend moved away, I wrote a story about this girl who got a letter from a long lost friend. Anyway, through following the message of this letter she discovered in the end he was dead. I didn't realize it at the time, because I was sick and emotionally distraught, but I unintentionally wrote about the worry I had over my own friend moving. I was worried our friendship would die, because she would no longer be around. I hadn't meant to write about that, but it had ended up that way.
Thankfully! That wasn't the case. She is still my best friend, and we Skype a lot. So, that makes it okay to talk about.
I have been very superstitious about what I write ever since then. I always think, "Oh geez, what am I accidentally writing in this story I don't want anyone to know?"
ANYWAY! Random stuff you probably didn't need to know.
Story stuff. After thinking about it, I might try to do a quick edit on my story before posting it on Deviant Art. I've gotten some new opinions on it recently, and should probably try to apply those before I go around asking for more advice. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it on here soon! And, I absolutely don't mind waiting. A week is nothing!
Speaking of story stuff, I may not be the best at grammar and all that, but if you're ever in need of some insightful story opinions, I'm full of them!
P.S. Sounds good. I shall add you on Skype. I think instant messaging is much easier.

oh my gosh, I'm sssoooo sorry I didn't respond to this earlier. Life just kind of hit me like a brick, and I haven't had the energy to respond until now.
Yes, yes I totally feel the same way! Sometimes, my morbid or very "depressed" emotions seep through my writing, and then I feel bad because I don't want people who read this to judge me or think I need help or something. Writing is kind of a release for me, so I always feel better after I write something emotional. I'm also very protective of my story ideas. Back in middle school, I told one of my friends one of my plot ideas, and she wanted to take it and write a book of her own using my idea :/ . So since then, I haven't really told anyone the details to my stories. The one other person I told them to is not my friend really anymore (we just kind of drifted away from each other), and so I usually don't even tell my best friends what I'm planning, especially because they are really judgmental about things.
Ah, I see. Yeah, I think that's what is so great about writing. Emotions become the drive of it, and soon we realize that others can connect to and understand such emotions we thought were raw or unprecedented because we all go through stuff like at at some point in our lives. Writing is good for this because we can use fantasy to expand upon these emotions and really make them come to life even though we might not totally feel that way.
Oh, that's really good! Skype is the best ^^
Yeah, I feel that a lot. There are a TON of things / stories that I have thought about or written that I haven't shared with people, and that's ok. They become special to you because they're your little secret.
Ah, sounds good! I can't wait, and I'm hoping that I'll won't be too busy so I can read it right away!
It's ok. I think I got the grammar down pretty well. For me, it's the dialogue and sometimes the plot that really gets me.
PS: Cool! Hopefully we can chat on there soon ^^

Heeyyy! Stranger . That's totally fine, I've been distracted with the Fourth of July and now I'm pretty busy helping my mom. So, yeah. Life definitely keeps you on your toes.
Aw! That's terrible that you've had problems with friends taking your ideas and being judgmental. Ideas are one of the most fun and exciting parts about story writing. I'm a part of a small writing group, and it's always super fun to see all the original ideas each person brings. Kind of defeats the whole point, if someone pops the inspiration bubble by being a judgmental downer. Sometimes, we need support and inspiration to help us fuel our writing engines. I think of it like how athletes eat protein, veggies and have workout buddies to get them through exercising. We writers consume art, music, books and have our crazy writing buddies to help us pave the paths of our character's lives.
Often it seems like, writers seclude themselves from outside influences, and try to pump out a ton of work without refueling their engines. I've done that. It's hard on a person and usually not very productive. It's much easier/enjoyable when you 'eat a healthy diet' (Lol) and have a support system. That's just my personal experience anyway.
Oh, I know what you mean about dialogue and plot. I'm only sliiightly addicted to dialogue, and plot...well that's just a whole other can of worms. I always think something is going to work, until I write it out and realize it makes no sense. Plot is a struggle.
You know, what I do for dialogue sometimes? Not that this is a perfect reference, but looking up movie scripts can be helpful. Not that you want to steal or copy, but it can be a fairly good example for how people talk. Especially, if you're looking for a certain feel or situation you wouldn't encounter in your own life. It can be really helpful if you have a character that has a different awareness than you. Like a 60 year old man for example. It's a little bit harder to get a feel for what he might say verses a character closer to your own age etc.
P.S. Funny, how we talk about messaging on Skype, and yet, we're still marching along commenting to each other on Deviantart. Hehe.
P.S.S. Hope you're having a good day

Speaking of life keeping me on my toes haha, here I am responding again almost a week later I just got done with helping at a camp, so maybe I'll be faster at responding in the future. I hope you had a nice fourth!
Oh wow, that's sooo cool! It would be nice to have a group like that. On campus, they have a writing club, and I always have thought about joining it but have been too afraid to do so. And you're totally right. I constantly have to have a stream of creative material on hand, whether it be reading a comic, drawing some art, or even programming something that's creative haha, in order to stay happy. And yeah, just having others around you as bases of characters helps too. For example, I have a close friend group that now, after knowing them for about year, have become the main characters of a story that I've been working on.
Definitely! I noticed that, with my last semester of school, I wasn't able to read that much, so whenever I went to write something, that work was significantly worse than when I was reading on a daily basis. Now that I've been reading a lot more this summer, my writing has gotten back to where it should be (well, at least I think it has )
Plot is hard, especially the stuff in the middle. I always plan out the ending and the beginning first, but then I'm always like, how in the world are they going to get there in an interesting way? Ugh, it can be so difficult.
Wow, wow that's such a good idea! That didn't even cross my mind to do, and you're right, that would definitely help if I would encounter unfamiliar situations in my work.
PS: Yeah, it's almost easier for me to talk on here because I'm not always around on Skype. And especially because DA allows me to answer on my own time instead of making me feel guilty by not answering right away ;w;
PPS: I hope you have a good day too! When I'm writing this, it's like 2 AM, so when I send this, good night!
