Thanks again!
And the lens is built into the camera - it's not an SLR. The camera is the Fujifilm FinePix S700, and quite honestly I wouldn't recommend buying it. Long story short, I had bought a different camera in the "mega-zoom" class - a much better one, but the problem was it had very short battery life. After a few days I took it back for a refund, but they would only give me store credit. The camera I ended up getting was slightly cheaper, as I couldn't afford anything better at the time (I basically spent my whole budget on the first camera). While the Fujifilm S700 isn't entirely a bad camera, there are many reasons I wouldn't recommend buying it. First and foremost, it has a weak lens. f/3.5 max aperture, whereas most mega-zooms are f/2.8. However most mega-zooms have a minimum aperture of f/8, this one is f/13.6 which is useful for longer exposures... Ironically though, the longest shutter speed on this camera is only 4 seconds. Once again, most mega-zooms are about 15 seconds. The lens also shows strong barrel distortion at the wide angle, which isn't even as wide as most mega-zooms - about 38mm compared to 32-34mm. And finally it only has 10X zoom putting it at the bottom of the spectrum compared to 12X, 15X and 18X zooms of the leading competitors.
To say it humbly, I am quite knowledgeable with camera hardware so if you have any other questions or would like recommendations, don't hesitate to ask
