you're welcome, I love your stuff, the colours and designs, they're all so great C: do you draw them or do you use a program?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MeoMai In reply to Moscalover [2013-06-16 23:07:46 +0000 UTC]

Usually I draw a rough in my sketchbook then scan it into photoshop to redo the line work and add color. Lately though I have been working from start to finish in photoshop. Which kind of makes it hard to go back to the sketchbook since all I want to do is click ctrl + z all the time now.

lol xD would be nice if paper had some of those options, but then again, it's paper for a reason and wouldn't be so charming if it wasn't original anymore... I don't get how you can make such perfect lines, though, even with photoshop

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MeoMai In reply to Moscalover [2013-06-17 00:01:26 +0000 UTC]

LOL...that is true about the paper. As for my lines......It is actually a little bit of flaw in me and why I rely so heavily on ctrl + z at times....when i draw in photoshop sometimes what should be an hour long drawing becomes two hours just because I just keep redrawing my lines until I get them to what I think is perfect. One of the greatest pieces of advice someone told me once is to never zoom into your work when you are putting down your lines...when u work too close to the image your lines may look straight close up ...but when u zoom out the issues become more obvious (squiggly lines and lines that are not cohesive with the rest of the piece) + it will slow down the whole process of the drawing and may lead to your work looking to stiff. Now I was told this advice later in my life so I'm still working on breaking the zoom habit. All in all I think every artist has their own process to how they do their line work...its just a matter of working on different techniques to figure out which one works best for you. If I were u I would also look at work by Scottie Young (I believe he has his stuff on deviant art as well)...his line work is very loose and his work just seems to come alive from it. That is what I personally am working toward now....loosening up my lines. Sorry for the long winded reply.

Don't worry, I like long replies it's just that your lines, even with this information, are so perfect. Like you can draw perfect circles or something xD it's really cool
how long does one piece take, though?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MeoMai In reply to Moscalover [2013-07-05 04:57:51 +0000 UTC]

On how long it takes...It def depends on how complex the piece will be. A normal character piece will probably take me a day....just because I tend to wander away from it from time to time to do other things....I'm easily distracted.

same, and barely have inspiration
it's horrible, because I like drawing and writing and stuff, but can't concentrate and forget easily and just never finish what I begin
