i need help a bit. i have had minecraft since the first stage of alpha, and this has never happened to me. every time i try to go on a server, my minecraft freezes. do you have any ideas on how to fix that?

Well it could be a number of things..
Do you know if its one of these:
1. Your running Minecraft, but your computer doesnt have enough RAM to handle it
2. You have a horrible taste in Servers :/ (No Offence, It could be it)
3. Update??
4. Running any mods?
5. Outdated Windows?

1. idk about my RAM, but i can play LoL perfectly fine
2. i only know like 3 servers, and they aren't that bad (mostly whitelisted ones)
3. i'm fully updated
4. no mods (haven't used mods since 1.8 beta D
5. i have windows XP and it used to work perfectly fine
What's happening is that it goes to the screen that says joining server with a cancel button, then it freezes on that and i have to force quit it out
