I have to admit that painting has much better atmosphere after your changes! As always I was a bit too scared to exaggerate colors but, as we can see, it would be good choice here

Yes, firstly I darkened around the walls because I thought maybe the light was a little too diffuse- I also added the rays of light coming from the window to make it a bit more directional. Additionally, I added a 'corona' where the light would show around the window frame and the girl's body.
As you say, I warmed things up with yellows, oranges, reds. Generally, I used an Overlay filter to darken and a Light/ Screen filter to lighten. I also used a very little bit of Dodge and Burn in places to push the contrasts a bit more.
I think the softness came from mostly using an airbrush because it's mostly soft edges in the scene.
