HELLO I'm finally watching the Picture of Dorian Gray. The 2009 version, I mean. It's... meh... not as good as the book. You up to much?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CherryBlossomFreak In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-05-23 00:15:55 +0000 UTC]

Not really. Just chilling on facebook. And it's not that great? I avoided it just because I didn't think it'd be good.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RosieFreakish In reply to CherryBlossomFreak [2011-05-23 00:21:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeahh, I figured I should get around to it just out of curiosity. It's not great. I can't even list everything that is wrong about it. Dorian has dark hair, and he and Basil kiss, and he meets Sibyl Vane before he ever sees her at the theatre. Oh, and he just has sex with every woman in London.

Colin Firth is good as Lord Henry, though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CherryBlossomFreak In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-05-23 18:38:04 +0000 UTC]

He does seem like a good Lord Henry. I can see it. But HE AND BASIL KISS!? What does Basil look like in the movie? I'm curious now!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RosieFreakish In reply to CherryBlossomFreak [2011-05-23 21:01:13 +0000 UTC]

Basil looks nothing like I imagined him... [link] That guy.

Also Lord Henry had a daughter who was like the Duchess of Monmouth in the last chapters of the book. She and Dorian were in love but after they had sex she stole the key to his attic and was gonna go check out the picture, but then IT WAS ALL A DREAM and Lord Henry went mad trying to discover why Dorian didn't age, so HE searched for the picture and it all ended with Dorian and Henry having a stand-off in the attic. Henry burnt the picture with a gas lamp and pulled out the wall fixture so the house filled with gas and IT ALL EXPLODED

Yeah, not cool. Not as good as the book.

Right, so. The Doctor's Wife. I got about two-thirds of the way through it and my computer decided to randomly restart itself and when I got it back up again, the episode was GONE. Asjfskdhfskl;hd WHY DOES THIS SHIT HAPPEN TO MEEEEEEEE

I loved what I did see, and as soon as I get the rest I'm confident I will love it too, but... UGH MY COMPUTER HATES ME

Aaaaawwww D: That IS cruel! What're you using to watch it? It's such a fantastic episode. One of my favourites EVER.

How're you doing, anyway?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

evilHerbivore09 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-05-19 16:28:40 +0000 UTC]

I finished it. Best episode ever, or BEST EPISODE EVER? Neil Gaiman, please write more episodes.

I am now using itunes. Means I have to pay for them, but at least they don't vanish at the drop of a hat, and they're fairly cheap.

I am doing fine, I guess. My computer broke (I'm on my phone right now) so I'm gonna have to come up with the money to fix it. I have a stash of emergency money that should cover it, though, so...yeah. I'm gonna need new emergency money. Still no job, but now some hotels are hiring around town. Is my luck beginning to change? *most hopeful face*

How are you doing, my dear?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RosieFreakish In reply to evilHerbivore09 [2011-05-23 00:51:14 +0000 UTC]

Ohh, iTunes is a brilliant way of doing it I mean, you'll probably watch them enough over time for it to be worth the money.

You really do deserve that job, you've been looking long enough. And isn't emergency money funny like that? As soon as one needs it, one finds oneself with no more emergency fund. ._.

I'm doing quite well; just trying to get together travel insurance and money and the like before I come to see you, really. Somehow I've found myself ridiculously busy and I'm always tired as a result, which is nice! Being tired's wonderful! You never appreciate a comfy bed more than when you're tired.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

evilHerbivore09 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-05-23 02:00:28 +0000 UTC]

Also, it's legal. That does make me feel quite a bit less guilty. Yay, I'm a supportive fan!

Job-hunting in a small town SUCKS. I kind of wish something new would open up here, maybe I'd get hired at that. Well, these things tend to work themselves out eventually, I guess. I just hate having no money, ever. Hopefully, nothing will break.

Glad to hear you're doing well. Being tired is actually pretty nice, it's being exhausted that gets ya down. And comfy beds are always lovely.

WE'RE GETTING A PUPPY and she's adorable but we don't know what to name her yet. My sister and I want to call her River, but it's technically my brother's dog and he doesn't like Doctor Who (or anything good and pure in life), so she is currently nameless. But she is cute.

That's true IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT KEEP THE TARDIS VWORPING!

You could go around everyone who lives there and offer to clean for them? Or even do laundry or ironing, or washing their cars. It's not glamorous work but I really like cleaning, actually. And if your mum knows everyone in the area, that might help I don't know.

AWWW, PUPPY! Wait, where's that list of names for our children? I think we made a list. Ahh well. Maybe see if you can trick him into bending the name to your will. Still, that's wonderful news.

I'm watching telly at the moment. There's a program about grotesquely rich young people buying their first homes. Some 18-year-olds are buying a flat in central London for about $700,000, and this 20-year-old is looking for a mansion in London and her budget is $1,500,000-$3,200,000. AHAHA, and there's this annoying guy and he just accidentally set fire to his house with a cigarette and now he has no home! It's funny because he's rich.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

evilHerbivore09 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-05-26 19:17:36 +0000 UTC]

Can you imagine a Tardis that had ceased to vworp? The horror. Also at what point did the sound become known as "vworp?" It's not actually very vworplike, now that I think about it...

There are only two houses that are anywhere near ours, and both of them are full of mean people. My mother is using her Connections to find out if anyplace needs help, though. Hopefully her network will find something.

I think he has decided on Pepper. Which is very very weird, because she's a sort of darkish tan color. I still have some time to try and change his mind, though.

Haha, rich people. They're so silly. I remember one time my aunt (who is rather wealthy) was staying with us and was just SCANDALIZED when we went to the store in our pajamas.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RosieFreakish In reply to evilHerbivore09 [2011-06-05 14:28:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure, now you mention! I think I first heard the term on *Girl-on-the-Moon 's Searth For The Truth comics, and it stuck. Maybe it's in the Doctor Who magazine, in the comic bits. I can't remember. I didn't like the bit in the episode with the Byzantium, when River told him it only makes that noice because he leaves the brakes on. NO, River. THAT'S. THAT'S THE NOISE. STAY OUT OF THIS. Bloody women drivers...

...OH, I WENT THERE!

Sorry XD Right.

Aww... you've gained a quality: Connected: Society at 1 - In search of a job! ...Have you ever played Echo Bazaar? That is what the connected thing is from. It's brilliant. It's my favourite internet game. It feels Sherlocky and steampunky and fantastical. And I have a pet goldfish, who eases my nightmares.

I'm rambling a lot, aren't I! Excellent! Oh, I've never been to the store in my pajamas... it sounds scandalous but also really exciting. Like an adventure. Once I almost went for a walk around London in my slippers, but I JUST noticed as I was leaving. I'm sure nobody would notice (or care) if I were to go ahead with it, but still.

You read Search for the Truth too? Where have you been all my life?

Alright, speaking of Doctor Who, I think we need to take a moment to deal with that last episode. This show has been inserting its time-traveling cock into my ear and fucking my mind with startling regularity, and I LOVE IT. I love badass Roranicus Pond. I love the Victorian interspecies lesbians who fight crime. I love the Doctor’s baby-cot-thing. I love that the eye patch lady is so despicable. The one thing I hated was that now we have to wait until September to find out what the fuck is going on. Also, β€œLet’s Kill Hitler”? Bless this show.

It is also worth noting that my sister is at some summer camp thing and will not see the episode in question for another week, and so I am mercilessly texting her teasing messages to remind her that I now possess GREAT KNOWLEDGE and she still doesn’t know who River is. I love being an older sister.

I have never played that of which you speak, but I love Sherlocky Steampunky things (which may have something to do with my love of the aforementioned Victorian crime fighters). I shall have to look it up. Have you ever played DeathSpank? I’ve been playing it with the boyfriend recently. It’s a lot of fun and nowhere near as dirty as it sounds.

I remember back when I was in school (God, I wish I didn’t), there was a sort of epidemic of people wearing fuzzy slippers to school. Since none of the teachers said anything, a lot of the students got very bold about it and started coming to class in their pajamas, with a pillow in one hand and a blanket in the other. They put a stop to it at that point, but it was fun while it lasted.

By the way, although my computer flipped out and wouldn’t let me comment on it, I did in fact see that video of you on Facebook, and may I say you have some sexy hair.
