Just took a quick tour around your place. I like photos of architecture best. Others are OK (like macros), some ofcourse could be used as a reference for another try. You're a programer? (not coder ;) (Wink) ?). Which flavour?

Thanks. I also like architecture takes. Macros are usually "one-shot" (i.e. it would be extremely hard to get to the same place and take another photo), so I have to accept focus mistakes, etc.

Re. being a programmer, yeah, I work on some open-source programs. I'm maintainer of GNU sed and sometimes I contribute to GCC . I work in the computer science field for a living, too.

GCC? wow, that's pretty hardcore. In coding area I feel myself schizophrenic - started with 6502, 8080, then 68000, then some higher-level stuff, then loooong break and now I'm stuffing some pages with PHP and struggling with Java ;) (Wink) fortunately I'm skilled in other areas too (so I won't starve anytime soon - I hope...)

eh, i started with 8086! And before the Ph.D. I also did my share of PHP/XHTML/CSS coding for [link] (I am living proof that you can get out of the PHP tunnel...).

Maybe you want to take a look at [link] -- some of the photos there also made it into dA, but it is more interesting as a programming exercise than anything else! (navigating in the site, you'll find some of its PHP source code under Projects).

Heh... that was third cpu I encountered, but when I saw how Intel did addressing there, I gave up. What was particullary pissing me off was that what Intel called an addressing mode, was in fact just using another register. This way they claimed like 13 modes, where in reality they were just four or so. Motorola 68K had 13 DIFFERENT modes, each could be used on one of eight addr regs. That's typical Intel marketing IMO :) (Smile) Other funny thing was it's 64 page limit. My friend developed some apps in C on 68K (Pure C for Atari ST - supposedly 99% equivalent of Borland C on PC). They worked fine on 68 K, but when ported to 8086, they crashed. Because some blocks had to use more than 64 K... sheesh...

Anyway, nice looking site (polimi.it), however Opera has some troubles with it. In my free time I work on [link] - done 100% from scratch, it doesn't even use any database (without MySQL it's easier to port to another server, and I don't have time to learn another language). I'm especially glad about the way the tree on the right is working (internally it's quite hmm... twisted). Coding this stuff was fun.
