i was just listenin to some good ole rolling stones and ALMOST watched a peta animal rights video showing all the cruelty in chicken farms and whatnot, but i decided that associating those images with my favorite song of the moment ('under my thumb' if you were curious one ounce) would not be a great idea... so the animal cruelty ultra-awareness must come later. i sound pretty cold there, but i'm not. arrrghhggaa

thank you. the television picture actually has nothing to do with the media. i assumed it would be the general assumption though, seeing that it is an image of a media machine. a doctor asked me a while ago whether or not i thought that i was recieving messages from the television, or magazines, and i had to lie to prevent being written off as psychotic, which i really don't think i am. but sometimes the instances of synchronicity are so great that it does apppear as if certain appearances of random images collected on a screen can be considered direct communications. the title is a reference to a dream i had after a day of seeing a synchronicity appear over and over that involved the devil. the dream was of mephistopheles speaking in tounges, and from what i gathered from his gibberish, he was making me a promise about something. i can't say what because it's personal. so the title is literal. it's interesting that the simple suggestion of already digested and accepted ideas of what is metaphorical and what is descriptive will lead to the same assumptions over and over. but i think it's funny, so i made it the way i saw it. i suppose i could have been more dodgy and shown him speaking from a kleenex box, or a butter dish. i've never been interested in political commentary, and i've never cared much for marshall mcluhan. television imagery will always cause people to come to this conclusion though, because it's understandable. i've seen the devil more than once.

you are right about where my work is right now with this color business, my struggle must be obvious. i feel like im sort of going through a purging, trying to clear out all the extraneous crap in my work. all of this is just an attempt at making NEW images. by looking at twombly, i became consumed with his work and i couldnt get past it. im just struggling to get myself free of that, and trying to clear my head. you're very perceptive, though. smart guy. hopefully, once i am "purged," i will be able to put forth the same amount of meaning in color and in a more complex arena. thanks for thinking/not just putting something stupid like an emoticalism or whatever it is.
