Thanks for the fave on Pet Shop WindowHome is a place I've never been;
Locked away, hope wears thin.
Staring out the window, as people pass me by.
Makes me feel low, and I wonder why
Can't they spare a little love?
A look, a nod, maybe pet my head?
Against the glass I shove,
Rapping, yapping, but as I dread--
They pass on,
In moments gone.
I don't ask much,
Passersby don't see it such.
I'm so sad...was I bad?
Am I too ugly?
Is that why they don't want me?
Nothing to do but sit and cry,
Forgotten, maybe misbegotten,
Locked up and wondering why.
I'm so alone, all I want is a home...
...Maybe you could take me there?
Long wait, my sad fate.
My ugly reflection I hate.
Doorbell chimes,
Seen this a million times.
Someone new, just passing through.
It hurts to hope,
to beg and plead only for "nope".
One more time,
I answer the chime.
Do my dance, pleading stance
Are you here for me?
Home, a place I want to see...
My heart you'll cleave,
Don't leave!
Unwanted, every day I'm taunted
Others come and go,
For me, just "no".
