I saw your Isabela necklace on Peopleofthedas and I love it. I might also have crush on your Alistair amulet. I wish you could have made my Morrigan necklace, it's literally held together with hot glue and fishing wire because I don't even know.

oh, Reine posted it! I need to take a picture of the updated version, since I redid the torque since then, its slightly slimmer, tighter fitting and has deeper detailing now. aaanyways I'm actually super impressed by the job cosplayers do on jewelry, since its so often not their specialty. found your costume and it looks great Morrigan's necklace (both from sacred ashes and in game version) is something that I've been musing over, ever since I first played DAO, well that, and desire demon's impossibly without spirit gum jewelry and some of the detailing on mage headpieces. going to eventually make it, but first - Aveline's copper marrigolds set (headcanon - after a few years of marriage, Donnic commissions a set for her, as a reference to her gift to him. Aveline almost never wears it visibly in public, but secretly has the necklace hidden under her armor padding.)

I do alright if it's just beading and wire and stuff, but the Morrigan necklace has so many parts. It looks okay, from a distance at least, it's just not very well constructed, and the pieces are always flipping upside down and stuff and it probably wouldn't survive another wearing. And it's scratchy - the brass bits are too sharp.

The copper marigolds sound adorable, and really fun actually. Would love to see what you do.

from from the images it actually looks like it has a leather backing so when I eventually end up doing it, I'm going to cut a back out of fabric or suede or whatever I can find really that is not going to break the budget but look similar enough and then just sew the brass pieces on - at the top and bottom. that should help with the scratchiness and make it more secure at the same time (just need to make sure that the fabric/leather collar fits well). biggest reason I haven't done it yet, is because I want to get it looking as close to the the screenshots as I could manage. so that means shaping each and every brass (or copper - since some of the links look like copper to me) link, giving it that indentation in a center. it will happen. soon.

copper marigolds kinda grew out of proportion. it was just going to be a comb originally andthen my brain happened.

Yeah mine is sort of like that, it's glued onto faux leather I think, but the edges still stick out and they are very sharp. And the brass bits (I think they were nameplates, just something I could find cheap) didn't have holes in them or anything so they are just glued on. There's a lot I would fix about the costume if I wore it again but it could be worse.

Ha. A comb sounds cute too though

Oh, has it? Ha, I guess it's been a month huh.

I went on vacation and then my AC broke, and it's hard for me to get anything done when I'm too damn hot. But I'm getting along, doing some much needed work around the house, and I'm halfway through my DA Big Bang, and I've started thinking about which leaked DA3 characters would be good to cosplay.

And the AC is fixed now.

Yay cold air...in the summer! We have had rain. Rain, all the rain the farmers in the midwest would kill for. Thank you Hurrican Isaac, I think I want to remember what the sun looks like though. I guess I know how it must feel to live in England or in Washington State.
I am staying so far away from DA3 spoilers to keep my level of surprise intact. GOD I am praying so HARD that I get to romance Cullen-please oh please let my Amell get a shot with that sexy templar. I'd even take a new character and go that route though I feel as though my Amell will kill me or turn me into a toad for the rest of my days. It will be so. worth. it. I stay away from the news because it is hard to cry while playing a game and at least the sting of disappoinment will be lessened-slightly. Y I PLAY ON XBOX WITH NO MODS?!?!?!?!?! And before you state the obvious, my computer saw the sun rise on the first day as revealed in the Book of Genesis so I have no hope of uploading a game to play on it.

Honestly, I would be very surprised if one could not romance Cullen. He seems like the obvious character to carry over, and all the writers know how popular he is with the lady fans. We'll see though

Please...don't give me hope Jan, it is too much. I've crushed on that Templar since my first playthrough in Origins so it will either be a romance with that templar finally or cry fest. Just be glad you don't live anywhere near me-the stores in a 25 mile radius will be sold out of tissues and ice cream.

LOL. Sorry for the hope. But I really think he will be the Anders of this game... in that he will be the crush-worthy character the creators carry over, only to give you a really emotionally unsettling romance. Because, I'm sorry, I like Cullen and everything, but that boy is going to have some issues, after everything in DA1 and 2.

No worries. I am an eternal optimist, but it gives me even more hope when someone in the fandom truly thinks it will happen too! I really enjoy dynamic characters who have been 'battle tested'. I don't know why, but I find them more memorable. I am still writing my Amell story between projects. Wait and see what I am doing to that poor templar. *sigh* I torture the ones I love. XD
