Try Higgins Non-Waterproof India Ink. It comes in a little box and then all you'll need is some water and a paintbrush. A thicker paper is best to use so the paper won't warp and bend when you get it wet.

Start off with dipping the brush a little in the ink and then into the water and start off with barely visible, light amounts of ink on the paper and keep building (adding onto) the amounts of ink on the paper.

Or you could just go crazy and get ink everywhere...that's fun too
