As promised.
The tenth Doctor, in an image created from a lot of references. So you won't see this same image done by anyone else. I'm sure I could have made my life easier just drawing from the same old publicity photos, but where's the fun & originality in that?
I'm not actually as happy with this as I could be, but I had to have it finished by this morning, so it's as good as it's going to get. Trying to finish off drawings at 5am when you had 3 hours sleep the night before is apt to cause problems. That's why I have discouraged critique - I know the problems, and if you find one that I don't know about, it will only bug me, seeing as the next time I see this picture, it'll be behind glass, and I won't be able to fix anything. So I'd rather not know, if it's all the same to you.
Time Taken: Probably around 20-30 hours. I lost track.
Materials: Quill 110gsm sketching paper, 0.5 mechanical pencil with #B lead, #8B solid graphite pencil, plastic, kneadable and electric erasers, tissues, blending stumps and cotton buds.
References: ~10
Size: A bit under A3, the same as Dr #9

Around 20-30 hours (it's easy to keep track if I do something in a couple of days, but when it stretches to months, it gets a bit tricky to be really accurate.

This is really good, and original since you had to use so many references. I can see a bit what your talking about, but I wouldn't say since you don't want us to, and you know. Ive been having Dr. Who on my mind for awhile, so this made me happy to see.

It's such a pity that this had to get framed immediately after I'd finished it, really, because I would have liked to have spent more time on it, and fixed those mistakes.

My father wanted me to enter it in a local agricultural show, which is why it was finished in such a rush. It has to be framed to be entered, and it had to be entered on Thursday night.....

It's an agricultural show, a bit like a state fair, if you still use that term in the US. It's pretty small, but there are animals, and a hall with crafts and art and cooking (all judged and then on display), and a sideshow alley, and stuff like that. [link] My father and I are involved in setup and stewarding, so we find it pretty exhausting - I'm just about to go back to spend all day drawing as a demonstrator/live exhibit+steward. We'll be dead when we get home. I spent all day in the exhibition hall yesterday (7am-10pm) first setting up, typing, etc, and then drawing, so I'm pretty tired as it is.

I think it looks fantastic, too! But I never watched Dr. Who to really know what the actor looks like to many any 'negative' comments anyway. I think that considering that you had several different references you used for this, it looks great! Totally seamless!

A big part of my difficulties was due to the character having so much latent energy - it's really hard to capture. But mainly I would have just liked to have had more time.

Well done. Considering how challenging it is to create a new image from several others for such a well known character, I'd say you have triumphed.
I haven't met an artist who is ever totally happy with their work but from a viewer's point of view this is great.
