Media: Ink on paper.Size: 12" x 22"
This is my largest inked drawing I've ever made. It is an illustration for a poetry book.
It is a vision of the of the heart of the universe. I was visually inspired by Jupiter when working on this. The name is in reference to the planet. Jupiter can not sustain nuclear fission since it is not massive enough, hence it is a failed star.
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, . . .
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

I love the planets series. Especially Mars and Neptune. I wasn't listening to it while working on this piece though. His interpenetration of Jupiter too 'jovial' for this art-piece.

This reminds me so much of how I always imagined black holes and the depths of space when I was younger- ever swirling and hard to look away from. This is marvellous.
