Description Just taking a short break from my weapon drawings, and moving on to share some basic battlefield equipment for the United Sovereignty of Nations. Fittingly, these deployable barriers are most commonly employed by the Shields; the main planetside fighting force of the Sovereignty military. Soon I'll have a much needed, updated version of the Shield's armor as well... but for now, let's check out the lore a bit:

M-140 Kítesh: One of the more distinct shield variants utilized by the United Sovereignty of Nations, the M-140 Kítesh is inspired by ancient design. This shield is quite narrow, but very tall when fully deployed; these exact dimensions being 50 centimeters wide and 150 centimeters tall. Both the top and bottom ends of the shield taper down into sharp points, with the middle being the widest part; this overall form is somewhat reminiscent of the shields utilized by many tribal peoples in Africa some tens of thousands of years ago. Although a number of soldiers within the Sovereignty disregard this tool based on it’s unconventional design, the Kítesh is a little more than meets the eye. For one, the size and height of this shield makes it great for counterattacks, clearing space, and keeping the enemy distanced in close quarters combat. This shield can project a mid-grade energetic barrier that extends about 10 centimeters past the physical boundaries of the M-140 as well. This barrier can be expanded to about two and a half times its original size, and while that does weaken its overall ability to absorb damage, it can provide a wide horizontal wall of protection; perfect for defending fellow soldiers from light-arms fire, shrapnel, and other low-impact attacks. The Kítesh is most commonly associated with certain special forces groups, like the Shugoki of Dawn and the Oshamari of Havisted.

(Project A is still in the works, so info here may be changed in the future)
