You know, even though we shouldn't trust either brother, when I first played Myst, I planned to free Siruis at the end (however you spell it), because there was nothing that proved he was evil. I thought Achenar was the bad guy. The message in the Channelwood age didn't change my mind, because the acting was so bad i couldnt tell if the guy in the messager was Sirius or not.
However i never finished the game because of that puzzle in the Stoneship age.
"How was I supposed to know there was a secret tunnel? the book never hinted about it!"

Sadly, no, I did not play any other games in the series. I only had Myst. though, when the 3DS remake comes out, I may want to get it.

Seriously. Going into his rooms to get the pages always freaked me out, especially in Stoneship. Rose morphing into a human skull = nightmares for impressionable younglings. The music in his rooms didnβt help either. Dude was seriously whacked. Nice to know he mellowed out in Revelation. Not that Sirrus was much better thoughβ¦ Nice profile BTW.

"Gordon, bring me the blue pages!" That's what I'd like to do with a Myst mod I've planned to make: It takes place on an Earth version of MYST Island, which features a blue book prop in the library, and later a TV has Dr. Breen flickering on it, saying that line.

This is hilarious! Achenar is a little bit of a nut but that's what makes him awesome!

Indeed. Which bedroom of Achenar is your favourite?

his stuttering and lack of any type of normal speech was a complete turnoff for me. personally, i figured there were a few wires loose when I first saw him.

This makes me want to get into Myst again. I only played some of the first game and that was ages ago.

Ah. When I first played Myst on my own (I'd be about... 10 or 11...) I gave Sirrus pages. Firstly because, just by looking at Achenar's rooms in the Ages, I could tell that Mr. Blue Pages had a bad vibe about him. Seriousely, the guy is a blood-thirsty sadist and have you seen his cache in the Mechanical Age? I did not want a torture-hungry madman running free on an island that was currently empty, save for myself.
It doesn't seem like you've tried the red pages yet, so I won't say how Sirrus turned out.

Yeah, if the throne and portrait in Mechanical don't send up a major red flag, the fact that he has every freaking drug on the black market in his bedroom drawer will...

I always brought Achenar blue pages because I thought he was funny..in a insane kind of way.
I never did the bad endings, but I watched them after I'd finished the game. I dunno, I just found it funny every time he ripped out the page and then dropped it with a "Whoops!" then breaking into a fit of giggles. He was a nutcase in the Myst, but he seemed just angry in Revelation...then mellow. I actually like Revelation. I found it to be incredibly realistic. If they ever decided to bring out all the games with the same graphics as that, I would so buy that!
I'm sorry, I'm rambling and I haven't even said anything about the picture. Very nice. I always saw Cyan wearing brown though. Dunno why.
Keep it up.

Myst fanart, w00t! Ah, now you've got me feeling all nostalgic for the first game! Achenar's a sneaky bastard, eh? He got me in Myst-- I brought back all of his pages and got trapped in that book. *LOL* I'm dying to go back and replay the first two games-- I cheated quite a bit on them, and now I'd love to replay them on my own. Plus, I think I'd appreciate them more, now that I'm a few years older.
I'm currently stuck in Revelation-- I don't suppose you could give me a hint or two? ^_^ I'm on Haven, at the sound puzzle thing in the tower on the far side of the lagoon. The one with the monkeys sitting in a circle of trees and the lizard-beast standing below them. I can get the monkeys to react when I turn the wheels to produce certain sound patterns, but nothing significant has happened so far. I don't want explicit answers, but a subtle nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.
