Practicing digital art when I should have been doing other things. Prompt was Herald of the Storm. Was probably a little too influenced by things popping up on certain memes...(Higher Resolution than the one I posted on tumblr.)

Here's a funny a lot of you will appreciate. One of our local theatre companies has announced its 2013-2014 season, which will include a production of Les Miserables. The summary in the newspaper ran something like this:
"The hit musical is about Inspector Javert and his seemingly endless pursuit of the convict Jean Valjean . . ."
*blink* *blink*
Since when did Javert become the protagonist?!
I literally laughed out loud. I suspect the presence of Javert fans at the local news office . . .

Holy Christ, Javert looks awesome here...really captured the sheer determination, dedication, and willpower that makes up so much of his character. Though I believe I detect a trace of stoic woobie in that face as well. Poor guy.
And at last, Crowe!Javert gets a bit of much-deserved but oft-withheld love. For some reason (prolly the cane) this makes me think of that moment in the new movie at the barricade where it takes like 6 guys to take him down. And bludgeoning to unconsciousness to KEEP him down. "I renounce your people's court" indeed...

I know, right? That set-jaw-haunted-eyes thing. He had it a lot in Master and Commander, too. It just sort of screams:
"This. Keeps. HAPPENING and I don't know why! Manly feels! Badass retribution imminent!"
