This is fantastic on so many levels, especially for the period style in both the swordsmare's fabulous outfit and the style of painting itself. You did a gorgeous job on the dedicated and very stylish warrior. So many great textures (feather especially), folds, shadows, etc. give her a lot of depth and life, plus that sword is fantastic. She stands out fantastically with the painting style of the gorgeous background, melding the two perfectly. No giant crabs are going to attack that villa on her watch.

How very befitting of a classy lady like Rarity. The coloring is so well done, the background is colorful but subtle enough that it doesn't overshadow the subject. Rarity's costume is something I'd expect of her as well, the reds and blues go very well together, and the outfit's design is very fancy.

Seems more closely inspired by the style of 17th-century French attire popularized by The Three Musketeers. Admittedly, I'm not sure how closely French costume of the time resembled that of the Russians, so you may well be correct.

Enough close for ponyfication-type picture to make both of you correct. Russia was not very far from Europe in style of costume that times. But actually Russia's society "crush" in everything french is a bit later fact. More like end of XVIII - start of XIX century.
